Camping

The boys and I always look forward to our annual camping trip with our friends. We packed the car to the brim and were ready to go!

This campsite was located on a farm and even had a pond with paddle boats. The kids loved being so independent and paddling all by themselves.

The parents were supervising...I was a little jealous of them being able to just sit there and relax, when I on the other hand had to follow Finn everywhere he went for three straight days, it was exhausting. Maybe next year he will be a little more independent and go off playing with the other kids more.

One of my favorite things during camping is watching the kids go off explore and find games to play with their friends without needing toys or asking for their iPads.

Finn played some corn hole with Mia for about six minutes, so it had to be documented...ha.

Feeding the deer some grass.

Making s'mores is probably the highlight for every kid each night.

All the kids had gone to bed, besides Fox and Aria. He was talking to her about Minecraft for about 45 minutes straight and I wasn't sure if she enjoyed this conversation as much as he did, but her mom told me later that she loved it.

On the second day we ventured out a little bit and visited a creek nearby, because the kids wanted to go catch crawdads.

The boys and I went exploring by ourselves for a little bit, and it was probably one of my favorite moments during the entire trip.

The boys were spying on some of the girls in the tent.

One of the moms had organized a scavenger hunt and Finn was in heaven.

This was the first time we camped for three nights and I thought it was just the right amount of time. It was super exhausting for me due to Finn being so clingy to me lately, but I know as the years pass, it will get easier. And even though I was beat afterwards, it was all worth it and we all had an absolute blast.

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!
