Fox, Katie & Nadine in 2016: Week 21

Day 141
My sweet wife surprised me with this bracelet! The front shows the coordinates of the place we first met and the back says "I choose you...Always!" Love this (and her) so much!

Day 142
We went to Cameron's second birthday party and Fox had some food on his face, so his friend Aria came to the rescue and wiped it for him! She was very determined and it was so sweet!

Day 143
We went to a play place with Katie's family and Fox had so much fun driving the boats there and jumping on the big trampoline!

Day 144
Playdate with his friend Lucy!

Day 145
After his nap, I took him to the trampoline park, because he has been asking for it for a week straight. He had a blast and it was probably the first time ever that he was excited to leave the house when I asked him if he wanted to go. Usually the answer is always: "No, stay home. Play at the house!"

Day 146
Our friend and co-worker Sandi gave Fox his first big boy bike! He is still a little short for it, but he had so much fun riding it in the house (well, me pushing him around the house).

Day 147
I took him to Gymboree and he really came out of his shell that day, just doing his own thing, listening to the teacher. I was so proud! And here is a video of them doing the "Freeze Song".

Fox's Second Birthday

Fox's Second Birthday fell on a Saturday, which was just perfect, because we got to spend the entire day with our little birthday boy!
We had talked about him turning 2 for weeks leading up to his birthday, we talked about his soccer birthday party (although he told us a few days before the party, he now wanted a basketball birthday), how everyone would sing "Happy Birthday" and he told us he would blow out the candles and everyone would clap. He was ready and he was excited!

The night before his birthday Katie and I were busy blowing up balloons, hanging decorations and wrapping his parents. It felt like the Night before Christmas to me and I couldn't wait to see his face in the morning (although I would've preferred to see his sweet face at 7am instead of 5am...haha)!
He loved running through the streamers, back and forth, back and forth!

We let him open some of his gifts that morning and he was pretty much over it after his first gift and just wanted to play.

We got him a small tennis racket (because he loves to play with ours), a new water bottle, a superhero cape, a stamp set and his big gift (which you'll see at the end of this blog!).

Katie made him a special birthday breakfast of French Toast with Sprinkles. Needless to say, he requests sprinkles with every meal now!

He also opened gifts from Hannah, my family and some friends who had mailed their gifts to us.

After his nap (well...he actually didn't take a nap but had "Rest Time"), we wanted to give him his cupcake and sing Happy Birthday as a family to him, because his party was later that day as well and we wanted to make sure we celebrated with just us beforehand!

Blowing out the candle, he was a pro after all the "pretend" practicing!

His big gift was this sweet little ride! Someone was selling it for $50 on Facebook through one of my mom's groups and I got so lucky to snatch it up, because there were like ten people after me who wanted it too! It is in excellent condition and I knew he would love it!
This face says everything!

He hasn't figured out how to push the pedal to make it go, but he has fun with it nonetheless as you can see in this video. He was so excited and kept telling our dog: "Look Cosie, a car!"

We had an awesome morning and I think he did too!
His Birthday Party is coming up next!

Sailor Boy

We had another "Mini" photo shoot with one of our favorite photographers. She did a Beach themed Mini Session and my friend Lindsi and I decided to take our boys together, hoping they would do better for the shoot if their buddy was there...and we were right!

It also helped that the photographer bribed them with a lollipop if they smiled for the camera, Fox's first ever lollipop, but he worked hard for it. Downfall is, that every time I take a picture now, he is asking for one! Smart boy!

Fox, Katie & Nadine in 2016: Week 20

Day 134
Apparently Katie had some fun in the Shower with Fox's Bath Crayons. Loved this little love note she left me!

Day 135
Fox's 2nd Birthday Party! We had so much fun celebrating with our friends!

Day 136
Family Dinner to celebrate my birthday! We went to the Cheesecake Factory...my favorite!

Day 137
Fox's 3rd haircut is in the books! He wasn't too sure about it this time and wanted to hold my hand the entire time. I hope he still wants to hold my hand when he is 12...haha!

Day 138
When your Mama doesn't want to give you crackers for lunch. It's a tough life when you are 2!

Day 139
Some rare cuddles after his nap!

Day 140
Kentucky Derby Bunco Night with my girls! It was so much fun dressing up! Next month it's pajama night and I'm equally excited about that one!

Fox's 2nd Year Slideshow!

It's official, Fox is 2!
We had such a great weekend celebrating him and while I sort through the hundreds of pictures we took, I'll leave you with his second year slideshow.
I am so thankful to be his mom, what a great year it has been!

And, if you haven't seen it last year, here is his first year slideshow!

Mexico Trip

After every Home Show, we get a 3-day weekend to make up for some of the overtime from the week before, so we decided to head out for a quick trip to Mexico before it gets too hot.
We used to go a few times a year, until we had Fox. We took him twice before and it was a disaster each time, so we haven't been back in 18 months. We were excited to show him the beach again and hoped he would love it.

The car ride there was a dream. He fell asleep almost right away (we left at nap time) and slept until we got to the border, where he was woken up by the border patrol agent.
We got there in the late afternoon and immediately went to the beach (their family house is right on the beach, which makes it perfect). Fox was in heaven! He was smiling from ear to ear and squealed in delight! There weren't many times in his life where I have seen him this happy! But see for yourself!

GG bought Fox some sand toys and he had a blast digging holes in front of the house.

He kept pulling us back to the water multiple times a day. It wasn't even that hot and pretty windy on top of that, but he didn't mind one bit. Every once in a while he told us he was cold and wanted to go back inside to be "comfy cozy".

We brought a batman kite and he was interested in it for all of 5 seconds!

The waves were unusually high and at some point he got a little scared of the water and didn't want to play in the waves anymore.

Katie and Fox were sitting in a little pool of water (or mud) and splashed each other, it was hilarious. I'm so grateful for Katie and that she is a different kind of mom than I am. Of course I would've sat in that pile of mud too (what wouldn't I do for this kid?), but I'm so glad I didn't have too...ha!

We went into town twice to eat (it's about 20 minutes away from their house) and this one restaurant had a little cave that you could walk through and it was super dark and kind of scary in there. I told Fox that I was scared and he held my hand and told me "Mama be alright!" Oh my word, I never heard anything sweeter in my life!

He was pouting here, because it was 7:30pm and he still wanted to go in the water and we told him that it was bedtime and the water was too cold.

We had such a great time and Fox slept awesome as well (I'm always worried about him sleeping somewhere else, when in reality, we hadn't had a problem with that in a year). On the second day, I think he was ready to go home, because he asked to go to "Soxy's neighborhood", but when it was time to pack up, he got very upset and wanted to stay.
We hope to go back for Thanksgiving this year and make more family memories!
