Oh April...I don't miss you one single bit!
Homeschooling was an absolute nightmare. I'm sure many of you can relate. The thought of them not going back to school come August is terrifying to me. But then there were moments like this, when Fox had to write an essay and my heart just melted.
I miss those days where we could play in the yard...it's so hot now!
Finn walked over to our neighbor's yard and thought it was a good idea to take a seat in their planter...turned out it was not.

Finn got a water table for Easter and it has been the best outdoor entertainment.
Cheap entertainment: washing cars in the driveway. I haven't done this in decades and while it was fun while it lasted, I realized why I won't be doing this again in the near future.
He is the messiest eater ever. He had just had a bath, I turn around for a minute and he has this huge blob of ketchup in his hair.
I loved our nightly walks around the neighborhood when it was cooler out. In this picture, Finn saw the moon, yelled "ball" and tried to chase it.
This right here...homeschooling at its finest. He broke down during a live zoom call with his teacher and classmates, because he didn't want to do the assignment.
Some other favorite homeschooling moments were when he repeatedly kept asking how much longer (again, with his teacher right there), saying that it was boring and hiding under a blanket.
I took Finn to our neighborhood flower field to take some pictures and asked him for his best smile. He totally nailed it.
We didn't have an outdoor eating table for the last couple of years and I thought it would be great to have one during this time, to do schoolwork, play and eat there while the weather was still good. Online shopping was getting a little out of hand during this quarantine, but no regrets!

He loves the idea of painting and asks for it almost daily, but as soon as he gets dirty, he is over it.

We explored a local golf course after hours and the boys had so much fun running around and collecting sticks and pinecones.
This has been Fox's quarantine outfit since March...pajamas every day. I don't blame him.
I met a friend for a social distancing dinner on top of a mountain one night and we watched the sunset up there. It was so pretty.
Finn has been really timid around the pool and even now, two months later, he still doesn't like it. Going on the step is about as far as he will go, which is so different from Fox at that age, he used to jump into the pool fearlessly.
Basketball all day every day! He is actually really good at it.
You know you have the most amazing friends when they surprise you with an ice cream truck right to your house.
Truth
Fox was excavating some gems and Finn tried to help him. I love when they play together.
Morning zoom calls have never looked more comfortable.
Both boys love to ride the golf cart with grandpa.
Every once in a while I pull out out bounce house and this was the first time Finn actually enjoyed it, even though he doesn't look like it in this picture.
And this is why you NEVER, EVER allow slime in your house! What the actual F***? I had to cut it out and Fox was not amused.
First time trying bacon at grandma's house. Apparently he was a big fan.
Social distancing has never looked more beautiful! It had been 3 years since I last kayaked and it was a gorgeous day.
Every time he asks to paint, I hand him some Christmas ornaments. It takes him three painting sessions to finish one, so at this pace, we will be done with Christmas parents for the grandparents by December.
I love his love for books.
Another quarantine impulse buy: an outdoor movie projector. Still, no regrets.
Every once in a while I pick up Fox from Katie's house when it's her night with the boys, so we can have some one on one time and do something special. We were driving home and he told me that he already missed Finn and wanted to write a letter to him, so that's what we did. He told me exactly what to write and was very proud of it.
Finn does everything Fox does and Fox loves it when he copies him.
You want to know why he's crying? Because I wouldn't let him have a popsicle for breakfast. He learned how to open the freezer and grabbed it out himself too.
It doesn't happen very often that I get my bed to myself when I have the kids, but if it's only one out of two, I won't complain. Both of them equals very little sleep for me because they are both wild sleepers.
