My Once Upon a Time...

I took a quick trip to Germany over spring break while the boys were on vacation with Katie. My dad had some medical issues over the past year, and it had been almost two years since I went, but a trip that was supposed to be five days in Germany, ended up being only four days because of flight delays. When in Germany for the first time, you HAVE to try Mettbroetchen. Needless to say, she was not a fan haha. A trip down memory lane is always on the agenda for the first day, walking around my village, visiting the homes where I grew up in (which are luckily still owned by my family), visiting my grandparent's graves, and eating all my favorite foods.  My only living grandparent, and one of the main reasons I wanted to go visit. It was so special to spend time with her. We had doener almost every day! Family dinner at my favorite restaurant one night, I absolutely loved how many people were able to join us even though it was very short notice. We also had breakfast at my grandma'...

The next day we were ready to leave the boat, but not before we got some Starbucks! We had a few hours to spare before our flight so we went on an Alligator swamp tour with the boys. They were able to hold baby alligators before we got on the boat. We only saw this one lonely alligator, but it was still a fun tour. We all had a great trip, but there's nothing better than coming home!

We spent the next day on Royal Caribbean's private island "CocoCay". Katie booked us a cabana and tickets for the water park and it was one of my favorite days. We all went on the water slides together for a bit, before Katie and Christina took Fox on jet skis for the rest of the day, and Finn and I got to hang out. It was the weirdest thing, to be in an outdoor water park, but there were Christmas trees and they played Christmas music. Finn was always too scared to try these types of obstacle courses at the Great Wolf Lodge, but he did them this time, and couldn't get enough! While Fox was gone, Finn and I explored the island. He was just watching me type, and he said "Say...and got ice cream! I don't want to forget about that beautiful ice cream!" It was so nice having this one on one time with him.
