The Polar Express

Last weekend, we went to the Polar Express for the very first time. I had heard about it two years ago when Fox was just a few months old, but we wanted to wait until he was a little older, so he could really enjoy it. They also offer something that is called the North Pole Experience, where you visit Santa's Workshop, but I heard that it was more for older kids, so maybe next year!
We booked the tickets back in September and they were already almost sold out! We wanted to make a weekend out of it and stay overnight to go sledding the next day, but Fox started to get a little sick the day before we left, so we canceled the hotel and decided to just go for the day, which turned out perfectly, because there wasn't much snow and we didn't want Fox out in the cold for too long.

I think between all of us, Grandma Sandie was the most excited to be on the Polar Express!

I didn't know what to expect, all I really knew was that Santa would board the train at some point and hand out little bells to all the passengers. It was actually a lot of fun! They handed out cookies and hot chocolate, read the Polar Express Book and we sang a lot of Christmas Songs.

And then we pulled into Santa's Workshop!

I can't even describe what happened the moment Santa came on board. They played this special music, which was nothing less than totally sappy, and I immediately teared up and I was super emotional just watching this scene right here. I had a hard time keeping it together to be honest.
This was it. This was one of those moments I had waited for and anticipated my entire life. Watching his eyes and experiencing Christmas magic at its finest...It was such an incredible moment for me!

Fox loved the bell he got from Santa, mainly because him and Grandpa played silly games to the music with it for the rest of the ride! You can see some of it in the video below!

We all had a lot of fun! The only downfall was that I left my purse in the restaurant where we had dinner that night (2hrs from home)..haha. I didn't even realize it until 24 hours later and freaked out! Luckily they found it and my sweet friend was able to pick it up a few days later when she drove up there to do the Polar Express! Whew!
