Pumpkin Fest

This was our second year of the Pumkinfest at the Princess Resort and just like last year, it did not disappoint.

Finn had been ready for Halloween for months, he's been talking about, dreaming about it, and planning everything he wanted to do. As I'm writing this, it is already past Christmas and I told Finn the other day how I was a little sad that Christmas was over, and he told me very confidently: "That just means Halloween is coming again!"

The whole set up there is just so cute.

But while I come there to look at the decorations, my kids come there for the rides!

Fox had the time of his life, but I got motion sick pretty quickly, while also trying to be the fun mom who did all the rides with him.

Finn was more excited about the hay maze, and he's still talking about it today.

This ride made me sick to my stomach. I had promised Fox that we could do it again before we left, but I admit I had to break that promise, because even hours later, I felt like throwing up.

S'mores time!

We stayed way past bedtime, had way too much sugar, but all had an absolute blast!

This kid never sleeps in the car, but on this night he was passed out.

Another day, another patch

I hope my kids will still love pumpkin patches as much as I do when they are older. Fox still enjoys going, but I feel like it's just a matter of a few years until he won't, so I'm cherishing every moment I get.

They would've played in this hay maze for hours. I have pictures of Fox playing in this exact maze when he was one year old, and now he's so big.

Here he goes with the goats again. He refused to leave this little goat petting area and asked multiple times to get a pet goat.

This goat was his favorite and he just sat there and pet it for half an hour. I had to promise him that we would come back before we go home to visit again and say goodbye. He kept saying "I think he really likes me!", I thought it was so cute.

Finn will always find the tiniest mud puddle to jump into.

We stayed until it got dark, and then proceeded to visit a Halloween neighborhood to look at all of their decorations at night. It was a really fun afternoon and I love these kind of days so much!

My happy place

Tolmachoff Farms is my favorite pumpkin patch in Arizona, and we have been every year since Fox was two years old. The last few years we always went with friends, which always makes it even more fun.

Here is my only kid who will pose for a picture for me.

And here is my other kid (and his bestie) who think it's hilarious to smack their own butts for a picture.

I kinda love this grumpy face!

The big boys were so happy to reunite and be crazy together.

They are also notorious to run away from my camera, so I have learned to be sneaky with it and to bring my zoom lens.

I love this picture so much, I might have to frame it. Finn has the best facial expressions lately.

This moment right here brought up so many bittersweet memories. I have a picture of Fox in this exact spot when he was two years old, and I remember that day like it was yesterday. I'm so grateful to still have one little kid, but he will grow up in about 5.3 seconds, just like his big brother.

He is such an outdoorsy kid, and has been asking to go back to the pumpkin patch every week since they closed at the end of October.

Someone taught him how to peel the corn and eat it, and he was all about it. That was, until he peeled an ear of corn and discovered a caterpillar in it. I think that was the last time he tried to eat corn.

We stayed way past our bedtime, got lost in the corn maze and had to be rescued by the workers there, and all left feeling happy and a little tired. It was an amazing afternoon with friends!
