June iPhone dump

Some snapshots from our June! We met up with Katie's sister, parents, and my kids' cousins at Ashlie's house for a pool day. We had lunch, and the kids played, it was really great seeing everyone again and catching up. We met up with some friends for some indoor miniature golf. This guy got a hole in one, and was very proud of himself. Grateful for my friends, each and every day. After the game, we took the kids across the road to the splash pad. We weren't prepared and had no swim clothes or towels, but they all had fun getting soaked. Friends for 10 years! He needs to sleep right on me, and will find me in his sleep if I move away from him. We were invited to a birthday pool party, and they had a Kona ice cream truck that came to their house, all of the kids loved it. They got to pick their own flavors. I brought Katie, Christina and the boys to the airport, when they left for their trip, and Finn was clinging to me so sweetly in the car. It was hard to say goodbye to...

Back on the Rollercoaster!

I had it all planned out. For over a year, I knew exactly how it was going to happen. The timing was perfect, I knew how we would announce it, I designed props for the announcement, I had it all figured out. Or so I thought. I thought this was going to be easy, after all, it was easy the first time, I had done it before and the success rates were supposedly better this time around. Turns out they weren’t.  So when the nurse called me and started to deliver her news with “Unfortunately…”, I knew what was coming. I shook my head “no” to Katie, who was staring at me expectantly. She was just as surprised as I was.  For the last two weeks I walked around thinking I was pregnant. Turns out, I’m not. I didn’t think it would effect me as much as it does, I thought I would be fine if we got bad news. I tried to prepare myself for it, I kept telling myself that it didn’t work, that we wouldn’t be lucky like this twice in a row. But I guess deep down I thought that it wo...

Thoughts on Pregnancy

I thought I would never say this, but I miss being pregnant. I knew I would miss this amazing belly, but I never thought I would miss being pregnant.  Pregnancy was rough on me. I was nauseous for four long months, then had a couple of good months, before the back and rib pains started for the last three months. Sleeping was a nightmare and I always said that it's probably going to get worse with a newborn, but honestly, I sleep so much better now than I did  back then.  I remember thinking that it would take me a long, long time before I would want to do this again and if Katie would carry our next child, I would be thrilled. People always say your forget the bad things about pregnancy and childbirth immediately, and while I haven't forgotten about them, I'm ready to do this again. Not for a while of course.  I became nostalgic looking at these pictures. In the first picture, we had just found out that we're finally pregnant and couldn't have been happie...

Nursery Tour

Planning the nursery was one of the most exciting things for me this pregnancy. I had ideas "pinned" on pinterest for years, but we didn't decide on a definite theme until we knew the gender. I also wanted to make sure to get Katie involved in the decisions and process as much as possible and I'm so glad I had her support!  We decided on a "Woodland" Theme for the Nursery and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
