Do-it-yourself!

We lived in this house for over 2.5 years now and ever since we moved in I was on a mission to find something to hang in the half bath downstairs.  Seems easy enough, right? For me, it seemed more like "Mission Impossible".  The problem was, that the previous owners painted the room in a light greenish color and on top of it, they wrote some french sentences on the walls. I always kinda liked it, so we left it the way it was. And by the way, until recently, we were never able to figure out what the french writing said, for all we knew, it could've been something very very bad...haha! Anyway, we started looking at french themed artwork and never found anything that we both liked and finding anything that matched the color of the room didn't make it easier...AT ALL! So when I stumbled upon this felt wreath on pinterest (I'm obsessed with pinterest...if you haven't checked it out yet, go do so, because it's genius, but be aware that it's totally ...

Indoor Rock Climbing

Last weekend, we were "babysitting" Christian. I guess the times are long gone that you can call it babysitting, he is turning 14 this week, so I guess you could say "we hung out" or whatever kids say these days. Man, don't I sound old right now? Anyway, he wanted to go Indoor Rock Climbing and Katie's sister Ashlie joined us as well. It takes freaking FOREVER to get all buckled in and do the training, which is mandatory before they even l...

Grandparents

I already wrote here  about how special my grandma is to me, but I also wanted to show you how lucky I am to have her in my life. Some of my best childhood memories are spending time at my grandma's house.  She would teach us how to knit, we would bake with her and she always had the best food. When we would sleep at her house, all of us cousins would cuddle up in her bed with her and she would tell us stories like Red Riding Hood, but she would always tell the story completely wrong, until we would complain that this is not how the story goes and she would tickle us until we couldn't take it anymore.  I miss her every day, but finding her letters in my mailbox makes my day and brings a big smile to my face.

I Heart Faces | Pets

I'm linking up with I Heart Faces and this week's photo challenge is "Pets". This is one of my favorite pictures of Zuma, it was taken on the day we adopted him and he was so scared and shy that he hid under the couch. Oh boy, how times have changed! Check out all of the other entries at IHeartFaces! http://www.IheartFaces.com

Shopping like Thieves!

This little Blog of mine should definitely not become a couponing blog, but I don't want to forget what happened yesterday! When I started this whole couponing thing I was excited about saving a few dollars here and there, then, after a few weeks I became even more excited about scoring free toothpaste and other items at the grocery store every once in a while, but I would've never imagined to walk out of the store with two bags of groceries and more money in my pocket than I came with.  Yes, that's right, the store paid me to take their groceries. Can you believe it? Because I still can't! We took $25 worth of groceries and got $1.06 cash back! We kinda felt like thieves when we left the store...no one folowing us?...no?...okay then...I guess we're good!

Full House and a Busy Weekend!

Two weekends ago we had a full house. And by full I don't mean the three adults and two huge dogs that live in this tiny house already, I mean FULL.  Katie's parents were on vacation and we had the pleasure to spend some time with Christian. I just love having him around, although I know he probably thinks it's a borefest at our house and I don't even blame him.  We also had two of their dogs over and Katie's sister joined us for the weekend as well. Cosie got all dressed up for the occasion!
