Indoor Rock Climbing

Last weekend, we were "babysitting" Christian. I guess the times are long gone that you can call it babysitting, he is turning 14 this week, so I guess you could say "we hung out" or whatever kids say these days. Man, don't I sound old right now?

Anyway, he wanted to go Indoor Rock Climbing and Katie's sister Ashlie joined us as well.

Letztes Wochenende haben wir Christian "gebabysittet". Ich denke, die Zeiten sind lange vorbei, dass man es Babysitten nennen kann, er wird diese Woche immerhin 14, also sollte ich vielleicht lieber sagen wir haben "abgehangen" oder was auch immer die Jugend von heute so sagt. Man, ich hoere mich gerade uralt an!

Jedenfalls wollte er Klettern gehen und Katies Schwester Ashlie hat sich uns auch angeschlossen.

It takes freaking FOREVER to get all buckled in and do the training, which is mandatory before they even let you climb. But so worth it in the end, we all had a blast!

Es dauerte eine Ewigkeit, bis wir alle verknotet waren und das Sicherheitstraining mitgemacht hatten, was man machen muss bevor die dich ueberhaupt klettern lassen. Aber es hat sich gelohnt und wir hatten alle eine tolle Zeit!

We also raced up this hill a few times, not to be bragging, but I was faster single handedly because I was carrying my camera than someone else who won't be named...ha!

Wir rannten ein paar Mal um die Wette diesen Huegel hinauf, nicht, dass ich angeben will, aber ich war mit einer Hand schneller (weil ich mit der anderen meine Kamera getrragen haben) als jemand anderes, der nicht genannt werden soll ... ha!

At the end of the day, we all looked like this! We were beat!

Am Ende des Tages sahen wir alle so aus! Wir waren totmuede!

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha. Book Club! July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do. Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...
