Easter

So yea...the 4th of July has passed and here I am, still talking about Easter. My life has been insanely busy these last few months, which is the reason I'm so behind on this blog. I have the kids about 90% of the time, I'm busy with my business and to top it off, I decided to sign up for two summer classes, which is an accelerated program, so I'm trying to do the work of 16 weeks in 8...yikes! I don't know if life will get any less crazy for me in the next few years, but I'm determined to catch up on here, because I love to capture our memories and I don't want to forget a single detail. The boys' Easter baskets...what's not shown in the water table I got for Finn, which he still loves. This picture cracks me up...he is clearly excited that the Easter bunny came. I don't even know why he was crying, but he was okay once Fox showed him all the cool stuff he got. I got Fox this little video game console. We don't have any video ga...

Out of Africa

Back in April (yes, I'm THAT behind), I took the boys to "Out of Africa" which is a Wildlife Zoo about 1.5 hours from Phoenix. I heard they were doing a drive through and since we were all going stir crazy in the house, I decided we'd take a little road trip. Fox was ready to go! (No, he didn't need a mask there, but he thought it was funny putting it on) You drive really slow, so the kids were allowed out of their car seats and Finn was glad to be free. To be honest, I was a little bit disappointed, especially since we had just experienced "Bearizona" a few weeks earlier. I felt like this park consisted 90% of only lions and tigers and it didn't take very long to drive through, so we did the round twice. We were just in time to see them get fed, which was the highlight of the trip. You might think that my kids loved the experience, but in reality I had one kid that was busy playing legos in the back seat an...

Egg Smash

For the last two years, we've done our annual Egg Smash with our friends. I was really looking forward to it for a couple of months, but then Covid-19 hit and you know the rest. I love how those canvases turn out and we always hang them in Fox's bathroom, so even though we weren't able to meet up with our friends, it didn't stop us from smashing some eggs at home. Ready, set, go! I remember telling Kristy last year, that Finn would be able to smash his own eggs this year, but since I know my kid and didn't want him to eat the paint, I decided to wait another year to let him try it out. He was very interested in what was going on though. Now that I look at these pictures, I wonder if Finn would even like doing this, because he hates to get dirty. We shall see! Fox on the other hand, doesn't mind one bit. Look at that face! He agreed with me that it wasn't as much fun as it would have been with friends, ...

April iPhone Dump

Oh April...I don't miss you one single bit! Homeschooling was an absolute nightmare. I'm sure many of you can relate. The thought of them not going back to school come August is terrifying to me. But then there were moments like this, when Fox had to write an essay and my heart just melted. I miss those days where we could play in the yard...it's so hot now! Finn walked over to our neighbor's yard and thought it was a good idea to take a seat in their planter...turned out it was not.  That's one of the sweetest smiles I've ever captured! Finn got a water table for Easter and it has been the best outdoor entertainment. Cheap entertainment: washing cars in the driveway. I haven't done this in decades and while it was fun while it lasted, I realized why I won't be doing this again in the near future. He is the messiest eater ever. He had just had a bath, I turn around for a minute and he has this huge blob...
