Katie & Nadine in 2014: Week 2

Day 8 Zuma kept me company for a couple of hours at work...I can't say that he was very helpful though!  Zuma hat mir fuer ein paar Stunden auf der Arbeit Gesellschaft geleistet...allerdings war er nicht sehr hilfreich!  Day 9 We had "Show Week" at work, so we dropped off Zuma at doggie day camp. He loves it, but I still feel sad every time I have to leave him there.  Wir hatten "Showwoche" auf der Arbeit, von daher mussten wir Zuma zum Doggie Day Camp bringen. Er liebt es, aber ich bin trotzdem jedesmal traurig, wenn wir ihn dort abgeben muessen.  Day 10 Katie was interviewed by a local news station about our Home Show. She always gets so nervous, but she rocks it every single time. I'm so proud of her! Katie wurde von einem lokalen Fernsehsender ueber die Home Show interviewt. Sie wird immer total nervoes, aber sie macht es jedes Mal super. Ich bin so stolz auf sie!  Day 11 23 weeks pregnant! This belly amazes me ev...

Week 22

January 4th, 2014 How far along: 22 weeks Baby is the size of a: Papaya. He weighs one whole pound now, which I find amazing, how does it take over half of the pregnancy to gain one pound and for the second half he will gain like six or seven more? Total weight gain: No idea. Maternity Clothes? A mix of both maternity and regular clothes. I mostly wear maternity pants with a regular shirt. Stretch Marks? Not yet. When do most people get them?  Sleep? Same as last week: Crazy dreams and still up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night! Best moment of the Week: Finding some awesome things for the nursery…yep, I’m still obsessed with that room! Movement: Mostly at night, but I can feel how he is getting stronger! Food Cravings: Toast with Nutella and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches! Belly Button in or out: In. Gender: Sweet baby boy! Symptoms: Pregnancy Acne. I finally caved in and got a prescription for it from...

Blog Book

I've planned to have my little blog printed into a book for years now. I just wanted to make sure I'd have all of my memories preserved, for me, Katie and our kids, just in case "Blogger" shuts down. I started working on it in March of 2012, got frustrated and took a long break, while it kept "looming over me" on my "to-do list" forever.  I eventually got my act together this spring and worked on it multiple times a week, with the thought, that if I didn't get this done before I had a baby, it would never ever get done!  I can't even tell you the sense of accomplishment I felt when I was finally done!  The book consists of 388 pages and 7 years worth of memories. It is the most expensive book I will ever buy ($181), but it was the best present I could've ever gotten myself!  I was smiling like a child on Christmas Morning, when it finally arrived in the mail and I hope my kids will treasure it just as much as I do when they ...

Crazy dreams and still up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night! Best moment of the Week: We started to decorate and unpack the nursery this week! Every time I walk by, it brings the biggest smile on my face! Movement: All the time now, I can especially feel him when I sit still at my desk or when I lay down at night. Some days, it feels like he’s having a party in there! Food Cravings: Chocolate Milk. Belly Button in or out: In. Gender: Sweet baby boy! Symptoms: Nothing new. Anything Making you queasy or Sick? Feeling good most of the time! Have you Started to Show yet? Getting ...

Embryo Transfer

I realized that I never shared about the day that was going to change our lives, the transfer of our perfect little embryo! I wrote this in the week following the procedure, but never shared it, so I want to make sure this will eventually go in our blog book! After they took the eggs out, the fertilized them with the sperm and then put them in an incubator. The doctor retrieved 39 (!!!) eggs, which was apparently the most eggs they ever retrieved, and out of the 39 retrieved, 34 were mature and 30 fertilized successfully, so we were told that we would be doing a 5-day transfer! With IVF, they transfer the embryos back into the uterus either after 3 days or 5 days, depending on how many you have and how good they look. Of course, 5 days is better because they have more information about the embryos and can sort out the ones that don't look too promising, so we were thrilled! Our Transfer was set for Thursday, August 22 nd at 12pm. I had taken Thursday and Friday off and wa...
