Hiking with friends

We didn't know it back then, but this was the boys' last time to spend time with friends before we went into quarantine and it ended up being a perfect day. 4 moms, 7 kids and 6 of them were boys, needless to say there was a lot of energy. We went down into a canyon and this old car was just sitting there. I'd love to know the story behind it.  One of my favorite things is to watch my kids have fun and hearing Fox yell out multiple times "Best day ever" just made my heart so happy. I borrowed the hiking carrier from a friend, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to bring Finn. It wasn't a hard hike at all, but carrying an extra 30 lbs on my back was a good workout for me. Fox said this was his throne. This kid would throw rocks into the water all day long if he could.  See that hiking stick in his right hand? He lost it somewhere on the way and was so upset about it, he dec...

Hiking adventures

This day was pre-pandemic and I'm so glad we got to spend this quality time with our friends because we hadn't seen Kristy and Jake since Christmas time.  I didn't have a hiking carrier that day and I was so glad that our hike to the creek wasn't too long because this little adventurer took his sweet time exploring all the sights. At one point he turned around to follow some horses he saw and wouldn't come back. Kristy always finds the prettiest spots. He was so happy to play in the water, even though it was freezing. So happy to finally be reunited! We had to call it a day when Finn fell face first into the water and freaked out, partly because it scared the crap out of him and partly because the water was so cold and he was soaked from head to toe. Poor little munchkin. We changed the boys into some dry clothes and went out to dinner at a hole in the wall diner we found in town. It was such a good afternoon and I hope we...

Easter Pictures

Our photographer took the boys' Easter pictures at the beginning of March and I'm so glad we got to do these before everything shut down.  Finn loves bunnies and I thought he would be more excited to see one this close, but I think the camera intimidated him, because he was very serious about it.  As we drove away, I remembered that she forgot to take pictures of the boys together and I was so bummed. Next time...whenever that may be!

Finn | 19 Months

February iPhone Dump

Who would've known that this would be our last month spending time with our friends for a long time? At the beginning of February I went hiking with a friend. I haven't done a lot of hiking, but recently really started to enjoy it.  The weather was gorgeous, we had a picnic at the top of the mountain and it was an amazing day. Every time Grandma watches the boys, she gives them baths. Win - Win! Finn has really developed into a Grandpa's boy and I love to see them bond. Fox's friend had his 6th birthday party and while it wasn't my weekend with the kids, I asked Katie if I could pick up Fox to attend and he loved being able to go with just me. He had never bopped for apples but was very motivated by the lollipop everyone received afterwards.  Seeing this picture makes me so sad. I miss these girls so much! He was under the impression that he would get a lollipop every single time, so he kept on going until he...
