Hiking with friends

We didn't know it back then, but this was the boys' last time to spend time with friends before we went into quarantine and it ended up being a perfect day.

4 moms, 7 kids and 6 of them were boys, needless to say there was a lot of energy.
We went down into a canyon and this old car was just sitting there. I'd love to know the story behind it.

One of my favorite things is to watch my kids have fun and hearing Fox yell out multiple times "Best day ever" just made my heart so happy.

I borrowed the hiking carrier from a friend, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to bring Finn. It wasn't a hard hike at all, but carrying an extra 30 lbs on my back was a good workout for me.

Fox said this was his throne.

This kid would throw rocks into the water all day long if he could.

See that hiking stick in his right hand? He lost it somewhere on the way and was so upset about it, he declared it was the worst day ever now.

I miss this kind of stuff so much and hope we can do it again soon...although we had our first 100 degree day today, so I don't think there will be anymore hikes until the fall.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
