Gingerbread House Decorating Party

For years I wanted to decorate a Gingerbread house with Fox during the Christmas season. But truth to be told, Katie didn't allow it, because she was worried about his allergies, even though there are Gingerbread House kits out there that would be safe for him. And not to get off topic on this post, but one of the most freeing things about divorce was and is still to this day, to make my own fucking decisions. Hallelujah!
So obviously we needed to celebrate our first Gingerbread House Experience, so we invited some friends over to join in on the fun!

It was nothing but lovely and Fox had such an amazing time.

The kids were more interested in eating the candy, but that's okay. I'm pretty sure they were all on a sugar high, based on how they ran around the house.

Look at his poor face! After our Jingle Hike, he fell down one step, right into the dirt and busted his face up.

All of the finished houses!

And of course, he couldn't wait to try it.

I love my village. I know I keep saying it, but I will be forever grateful for them.
It was such a fun afternoon, my house was a wreck, but my heart was full!

  2. Our boys look like twins with their injuries! Will's scab finally fell off his nose, but his lip still looks pretty bad - poor little cuties! I love the idea of having a gingerbread house making party! So fun. :)

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
