Fox, Katie & Nadine in 2016: Week 16

Day 106 We went to the Zoo with Fox's friend Lucy! Day 107 Longest three hours of my life...going over kitchen remodeling plans and picking cabinets and countertops. And no, those are not the cabinets we picked. Katie loves this kind of stuff and has amazing design taste, so I pretty much let her choose whatever she wants. #HappyWifeHappyLife Day 108 Fox woke up with a single red mark on his belly, which quickly developed into this. Two Urgent Care Visits later he was diagnosed with an amoxicillin Allergy (that he had to take because of an ear infection). We started benedryl, which didn't help at all, so after another visit at his regular doctor he was put on steroids. Which had terrible side effects. It's a week later and while most of the spots and the itching is gone, we are still dealing with some health issues and hope he'll be better soon! Day 109 Fox loves to go out to eat. When we pulled up to the restaurant, he yelled: "Dinn...

Fox, Katie & Nadine in 2016: Week 15

Day 99 Sometimes, we don't think purchases through. We bought this climbing structure for Fox, thinking, we would just find a spot for it. Obviously, the living room wasn't a good choice. It's now in the playroom, but man...we really need to stop buying giant toys. He loves it though, so I guess that's all that matters.  Day 100 Playground Date with my Boy! Day 101 We took Fox to Disney on Ice and had the best time. The first half of the Show we weren't sure, if he loved it or if he was simply overwhelmed and terrified, but when intermission came and he yelled "More", we knew he had fun. He was in awe the entire time! Day 102 A typical Monday night at Target with these fools! Day 103 Fox's first time in big boy underwear! Not potty training yet, but getting him used to it! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!  Day 104 We had dinner with our friend Kristy and her son Jake at the Golf Club and...

Mama & Me Pictures

I think I mentioned it before...I found two local photographers that offer mini sessions like once or twice a month. Ever since Fox became mobile, it has been hard to get him to sit still, and by the end of my attempt to take one decent picture, we are both frustrated and I'm drenched in sweat.  So while I still take a lot of pictures of him, I'll leave the posed ones up to the pros (at least most of them). And when there is an opportunity for once for me to be in the picture with my favorite guy, instead of behind the lens, then I'll call that a win-win. This one was a "Mommy and Me" Session, ten minutes for $15 (how can you say no to that???). He loves the "Finding Waldo" Series and seriously finds Waldo every single time! He is always so proud and gives high fives and laughs, so I knew the book had to come to get some great natural smiles out of him! :) We have another Mommy & Me Session...

Fox's First Lemonade Stand

Well...okay, it wasn't a "real" lemonade stand, but a super adorable photography set instead, but it turned out cute nonetheless.  I have to admit though, I can't wait until he is a little older and we can have a real one in front of our house. Growing up in Germany, we never had lemonade stands, but instead would sell old toys or rocks on a blanket in front of our house (my grandpa would always stop by to buy most of it!), so this seems very "american" to me and I love it.

Horseback Riding

A few weeks ago, Katie and I saw a Groupon for a Horseback Ride, just outside of Phoenix. I had never ridden a horse (besides little ponies when I was little) and thought it sounded fun, so off we went for a rare Morning Date, just the two of us!  I'm not going to lie, I was super scared in the beginning, especially when they made us sign a waiver, in case of our death during the ride. Our tour guide was super nice and told us about the desert plants and wildlife while we were exploring the Arizona desert. We didn't just ride on a trail, we rode in the middle of the desert, down small cliffs and through trees and bushes.  At one point, we came to a river where we saw wild horses. Riding through the river was amazing, it was by far my favorite moment. By the end of the 90 minute tour, our legs and butts hurt like crazy, but we had so much fun, enjoying the beautiful sonoran desert, the nice weather and c...

Fox, Katie & Nadine in 2016: Week 14

Day 92 Fox had a lot of fun playing the drums with his friend Lucy! Her mom is German as well and speaks German to the kids, which I love! Day 93 Katie and I had a Date to go Horseback Riding! First time for both of us! It was amazing! Day 94 My friend Lindsay had her second baby girl and I brought her some dinner and of course got to meet this precious princess! Day 95 Playdate at the Park! Fox and Miranda kept yelling at each other through this little tunnel, they were so funny together! Day 96 Washing his car one hot afternoon Day 97 Story Time with Mommy. He always asks her to read German books, so she is forced to make up a story, which she does amazingly well! I love watching these two! Day 98 Another picture of my loves! Such a sweet moment (that lasted for about five seconds!)
