Christmas Weekend

I can't believe Christmas is over!  I'm not ready to pack away all of our decorations and I already miss listening to Christmas Music on the Radio...where has this month gone?  All that is left are memories and we made some great ones this weekend! Friday Night we invited Katie's sister Ashlie and her boyfriend Calvin over for dinner and to go look at Christmas Lights afterwards. This ye...

Call me Martha!

Here’s a fact for you that you probably didn’t know about me. I LOVE Martha Stewart. LOVE HER.  When Katie got Satellite Radio in her car, I begged her for weeks to listen to the Martha Stewart Channel whenever I would ride with her...of course that didn’t fly with her. I should probably stop right here with my confessions before it’s getting too embarrassing, but in fact, my Amazon wish list has been holding the “Martha Stewart Good Homekeeping Book” for a long time now, let’s see if Santa gets the hint this year! I wish I could be just like her, but let’s face it, my house will never be clean enough, I have no sense for decorating and Katie calls my cookies “Scooby Snacks”. It’s all good and I like a good challenge! So last weekend I set out to prove her wrong and that one bad batch of cookies made over four years ago, doesn’t make me the queen of scooby snacks. I decided to bake some holiday cookies for my co-workers and I totally enjoyed making them, even thoug...

Deck the Halls!

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner this week, she's hosting a Christmas Tour of Homes! I love Christmas Time, it's my favorite time of the year and I usually can't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put all of my decorations up....this year was no different!  This is our Advent Calendar, which is probably my most favorite decoration in the house right now, even though I'm not the one who gets to open the presents each day! But planning it all out was just as much fun for me!

I Heart Faces - Furry Faces

This week's challenge over at I Heart Faces is "Furry Faces".  This is Winston, Katie's parents dog, in his usual pose with his tongue hanging out. You will find him like this on any day of the week.  I took this picture a few months ago, but still like it, since it is SO "him"! Check out all of the other entries HERE!

A Special Dog with Special Needs

Zuma has always been a very special dog. Now, you probably say that everyone will say that about their dogs, but he is truly special. Some would call it weird or odd, I call it special.  I think I like him so much because of his weirdness. In fact, that’s exactly the reason we picked him when we went to the pound to adopt a dog. There was a cage of about 8 or 10 of his brothers and sisters and everyone was playing, but he was sitting in the corner looking all depressed... I knew that’s the one I wanted to bring home. I told you before how scared he is and he always had very bad anxiety. He would run up to strangers, nudge them in the leg and when they try to pet him, he would bolt. He would never let anyone touch him, it took a very long time until he would even let us pet him and I would describe him as very suspicious. Yes, he’s one special dog.  I didn't know if I should write this post and was thinking a long time about it, but in the end, it's still my diary and why...
