Beach trip with friends

Our friends invited us to join them at their beach house rental in California during the month of July. It was 120 degrees in Phoenix, and the perfect time to escape the heat for the boys and I.

The first night we got there, we picked up some pizza and had a picnic by the beach, it was perfect.

Fox and Jake have been friends since they were babies, and no matter how much time passed without seeing each other, they pick up right where they left off. They worked for a good hour to bury Fox in the sand.

This picture made me laugh.

The next day we went to a different beach and Fox got to boogie board for the first time. He was a huge fan.

This kid keeps me on my toes, but I'll try to remember that one day he will let me sit down with my friend to chat, and play alone, and I will miss the days of him needing me so much.

On the third day, we decided to take the boys to Warner Brother Studios, since they both love Harry Potter. We stopped for a little walk by the beach beforehand.

I call this one "dance like no one is watching"!

And then it was time for Harry Potter!

Warner Brothers is one of my favorite places in California, and I will always and forever love this little pavilion from the show "Gilmore Girls".

And FRIENDS of course!

They all got sorted into their "houses", my boys were both Gryffindors!

Trying to pull out the Mandrakes.

Harry's closet under the stairs.

These pictures look fun and all, but I will always remember this day as one of my most stressful and draining parenting days ever. It was rough y'all! One of my kids (not to name anyone in particular) needs to be a little older to be allowed back into the studios!

On our last day there, we took the kids to Universal Studios! We spent the night at the hotel by the park so we could get there bright and early.

More Harry Potter time of course!

They loved the butter beer and the rides.

It was a short, but fun filled trip. I'm so grateful that Kristy invited us and we all had such a great time.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
