Elf on the Shelf - 2020 Edition

Have you seen the pictures of all of these "quarantined elves" on social media? I can't say that I was even slightly tempted to quarantine our elf, because it's almost as fun for me as it is for the kids. At least for the first week or so...then it kind of gets old. I'm sure some of you can relate.
Here are some pictures of our elf adventures, we always start out on December 1st, but since Katie had the boys some of the weekends, our elf got a much needed break sometimes.

Sorry Finn!

Finn was very good about not touching the elf. I'm not sure if it was because he truly understood that this was the rule, or because the elf intimidated him a little.

I thought he would either love this and talk about it for years to come, or Airplane the elf might have to go home to the North Pole a few days early because it was going to scare the crap out of him. What I didn't expect was that Finn would get out of bed without me knowing, walked into the living room and came running back to me, totally terrified. I had no idea what he was talking about at first and felt so bad that it scared him so badly. Fox on the other hand was not impressed.

And that's a wrap!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
