4th of July Celebrations

We had an amazing 4th of July week this year!
This was my first official solo holiday and luckily I got to spend it with my kids. I'm very worried about the holidays I don't get to spend with them, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

My friend hosted a pre 4th of July BBQ at her new house and we had an amazing time.

Finn was so happy to play with the water table and all the big kids gave so much attention to him, he loved it.

Seeing my kids have fun is one of the greatest joys in my life.

And seeing my friends love on my kids, is another one!

This is what summer is all about!

A few days later, my friend Kristy invited us to join them at the Princess Hotel to celebrate Jake's 5th birthday. They had booked a room there, so we were able to swim with them all day.

I don't know if I took this picture by accident or if Fox took it, but there's something about it that I really love.

After a few hours, we walked over to their other pool for some more fun.

We went to their room to change and play for a little bit and these two superheroes jumped from one bed to the next, until one of them got hurt.

We all had dinner together and then watched a little bit of the LEGO movie by the pool, before we watched the fireworks and took all the sleepy babies to bed.
Kristy always makes everything so fun and we had the best day.

On the actual 4th of July, we went to Corinne's house for a BBQ and some more swimming.
This guy had his first ice cream sandwich, not because I wanted him to have one, but because he kept grabbing it out of my hand, so I surrendered and just gave it to him. He was a big fan.

Everyone was too tired to wait for the actual fireworks, so we had our own in the driveway before it got dark.

It was a fun week full of fireworks, friends and swimming!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
