31 weeks pregnancy update

June 13, 2018

How far along:
31 weeks

Baby is the size of a:
Head of romaine lettuce or a foam finger (think sports events)

Total weight gain:
33 lbs

Maternity Clothes?
Katie commented to me that I pull out a brand new outfit every day. I’m so grateful for all the hand me downs I received from friends.

Stretch Marks?
Not yet.

Sleep?
Well, this week I did something to my upper back and neck and I’ve been in so much pain that nights have been pretty horrendous lately. I’m seeing a chiropractor now and I hope that he can help me get some relief soon.

Best moment of the Week:
Katie and I were able to go on a couple of much needed dates, just the two of us! It definitely made me feel special and has improved my mood tremendously.

Movement:
Constantly!

Food Cravings:
Nothing special.

Belly Button in or out:
In.

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
Some backaches, some nightly bathroom breaks, rib pains, Braxton hicks contractions and getting out of breath all the time. My mood has definitely improved this week and for that, I’m so grateful. Fingers crossed that it will stay that way. I rather deal with physical pain than emotional pain.

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Nothing.

Have you Started to Show yet?
Still loving that big belly!

What I miss:
Feeling good all around. When you’re pregnant, people constantly ask you how you’re feeling and at this point I have resorted to saying “Don’t even ask!” because I’m sure they don’t want to hear about all my aches and pains.

What I'm looking forward to:
We are leaving for a 5-day trip to California this week and are taking Fox to Disneyland and Legoland. I hope I will be okay with all that walking and keeping up with those two, but I’m excited to have one last “hurrah” with him before the baby comes.

What I'm not looking forward to:
Being stuck in the car for 6 hours each way.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
