Fox | 14 Month Update

 Weight:
We'll find out at his check up next month.

Height:
We'll find out at his check up next month.

Health:
Grateful for his health!

Nicknames:
Big Honey, Bubba, Schatzi, Bubbles, Mr. Fox, Foxy, Pumpkin, Poodle

Eating:
Still picky as ever! I always worry about what he is eating and how much, it never ends. Someone told me that babies won’t starve themselves and hearing that other moms have similar struggles with their kids, makes me feel a little better. His favorites this month were blueberries, cherries, grapes, waffles, applesauce, bread with cream cheese, cheese and fish sticks.

Teething:
No new teeth this month, still at 12 teeth total.

Sleeping:
Pretty much the same as last month. He’s been sleeping from about 7:30pm until 5:30am. His naps are usually 3 hours, but there were quite a few days this month, where he slept 4 hours (growth spurt maybe?). I’m grateful that he’s such a good sleeper, after we struggled for the first 9 months.

That's the best picture I got of him...lol!

Diapers:
Size 4

Clothing:
12-18 months

Social:
This boy definitely knows what he wants and what he doesn’t want. He is stubborn like his Mama and recently started to throw tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants.

He has also been super attached to me and cries every time I leave the room. He acts shy sometimes, especially when we’re in a group class like gymboree. He loves to give kisses to his stuffed animals and is so sweet to them. We love this age, he’s so fun!

Words:
Dog, Cat, More, Ball, Danke (the german word for Thank you), Done

Likes:
Music and dancing (his favorite song is “Hoppe Hoppe Reiter” – german song), being outside, other babies and children, sleeping on his side and stomach, Cosie, bath time (only when we allow him to stand up in the bath tub), swimming, having his mommies attention, watching videos of himself, baby puffs, hummus, smoothies, yoghurt melts and any kind of carbs, cell phones and remotes, walking, playing peek-a-boo, Roomba (vacuum robot), his stuffed animals, shaking his head (like he’s saying “no, no, no”), opening cabinets and drawers, his play kitchen, looking at pictures of Katie, me and himself on our picture wall, toy lawn mower, our vacuum cleaner, Baseball bats, Watering cans, riding and sitting in his cozy coupe, being independent, steps/stairs, drinking out of a straw, the Children’s Museum , the Aquarium, his german Bauernhof (Farm) book (thank you Alison and Sabrina), playing hide and seek under our kitchen table, when his Mommies come home from work, Open Play at Gymboree, Flowers (he asks to smell them), helping putting the laundry in the washer or dryer, reading books

Dislikes:
When we take something away from him, changing his diaper or getting dressed (basically anything where he is restrained), car rides, most food, kisses from our dog Cosie (I don’t blame him, he never quits!), when we leave in the morning, being held, Grass

Fun things we did:
This boy is still really busy while we’re at work: Story Hours at the Library, Baby Dance, Children’s Museum, Aquarium, Gymboree, Play Dates, Splash Pads…you name it, he’s doing it.

Our friends visited from Tucson for a weekend and Fox had a lot of fun playing with their two kids. We also had a few first birthday parties to attend and had so much fun!

Fox celebrated his second 4th of July with his grandparents and aunt and uncle (and his mommies of course) and held a sparkler for the first time. He also invited his baby friends for a 4th of July Craft playdate at our house, where the babies created some cute patriotic outfits!

Matthias sister Frida visited for two weeks and Fox just adored her, he was so sad when she left. Lucky for him, she’s coming back in October!

Milestones:
He’s learning so much these days. He understands a lot of things, especially when I tell him in german  (Katie always says that he understands more German than English, which I think is also true, but only because Katie speaks german as well when she knows the german word or sentence). He also started to climb this month…we’re in trouble soon!

What we’re looking forward to:
Our trip to Germany where Fox will meet a lot of his relatives for the first time!

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit. My friend got me some comedy tickets to see "Nurse John", so I invited my two besties, and two of my old classmates, and we had a blast, he was so funny. We even got VIP acc...

First day of school

This year I have a first and a fifth grader! Aww, he was so tiny in the first picture in Pre-K! Last year of elementary school for this big kid, and Mama is not ready for middle school next year. The boys had a great start to their school year, still taking the bus every day, and while no one is a fan of going to school around here, they seem to like their teachers and classes so far. I'm glad to be getting back to more of a routine for them (and me), because let me just tell you...summer was rough! Haha.

January iPhone dump

A quick look at our January! Nursing Level 2 unlocked...after getting a heated vest, I now also have my personal space heater at work. No one warned me how cold hospitals are...haha! We watched our friend's dog for a few days and Mr. Finn was in heaven. He wouldn't let go of poor Nugget and always wanted him to be right with him. His eyes say "Save me!!!" Cherishing the times that he will cuddle with me. I know I don't have much time left, and that makes me really sad. Self-care...reading a book in our hammock while the kids were playing nicely together. Another downfall of them growing up, is that we now have to order adult meals at the restaurant. I might have to get another job in order to afford these two...haha.  Katie sent me this picture of Finn sleeping with their dog one night.  Sweet things my co-worker leaves for me when I was sick at work...she made me a to-go tissue packet because the box I kept carrying around kept falling out of my fanny pack that I...
