Week 24

January 18th, 2014

How far along:
24 weeks

Baby is the size of an:
Ear of Corn

Total weight gain:
Well, according to my scale, 21lbs, but the scale at the doctor’s office said 15lbs today, so who knows?

Maternity Clothes?
Nothing new.

Stretch Marks?
Not yet.

Sleep?
Getting more uncomfortable. Katie said I moan like I’m in pain in my sleep.

Best moment of the Week:
Seeing our boo on the ultrasound today and spending a relaxing weekend in Mexico.

Movement:
All the time. We actually saw the kicks from the outside last weekend, which was so weird and special at the same time! While the kicks usually felt like big air bubbles, there were two times where he kicked me so hard that I squirmed in my seat...it was a completely different and more intense feeling!

Food Cravings:
Nothing unusual.

Belly Button in or out:
Still in, but getting more shallow.

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
Pregnancy Acne, Irritibility, Having to go to the bathroom constantly, Pains in my ribs (not sure where those are coming from?).

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Feeling great!

Have you Started to Show yet?
Getting bigger each week!

What I miss:
My clear skin and sleeping comfortably. Especially sleeping on my back or stomach!

What I'm looking forward to:
Spending some time with family this weekend and finishing our baby registry.

What I'm not looking forward to:
Is it too early to not look forward to sleepless nights? :)

Weekly Wisdom:
Chill!

Wie weit:
24 Wochen

Baby ist so gross wie:
Mais

Insgesamte Gewichtszunahme:

Was ich vermisse:

Relax!

  1. I had pain in my ribs too! It's from your uterus expanding upwards. It was so sharp & painful for me when it first occurred (I have a freakishly short torso). Doing prenatal yoga 5x/week has helped tremendously for me! I only feel a dull pain now, usually at the end of the day. Also, try to lay down (rather than sit or stand) as much as possible to give your belly space. Hope you feel better! Take it easy, mama!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...
