Week 17

November 30th, 2013

How far along:
17 weeks

Baby is the size of an:
Onion

Total weight gain:
According to my scale, none this week, still up 12lbs total.

Maternity Clothes?
Still a mix of both.

Stretch Marks?
Haven’t found any yet.

Sleep?
Okay. Getting up to go to the bathroom once a night is annoying, but could be worse. I’m also working on staying up longer each night, my energy levels have definitely improved!

Best moment of the Week:
Spending Thanksgiving on the beach in Mexico and getting our crib delivered! It felt so surreal. We haven’t set it up yet, but I’m so excited that we have a crib in our house! I can’t believe it!

Movement:
Patiently waiting for it!

Food Cravings:
None.

Belly Button in or out:
In.

Gender:
Sweet Baby Boy!

Symptoms:
Getting better. I have more energy and only have light spells of nausea every now and then. I stopped taking my anti nausea medication this week and have been doing well. I’m also not starving after each meal anymore, which is awesome!
So as of right now, my only symptom is the pregnancy acne. I read that some ladies have it until after birth and I pray that I won’t be one of them! I know there are a lot of worse things that could happen, but I’d take nausea over this any day of the week. Where is that pregnancy glow everyone is talking about…? Ha!

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Long Car Rides.

Have you Started to Show yet?
I’m in that stage where I don’t look quite pregnant yet, but chubby. I still love the belly and admire it each day in the mirror! :)

What I miss:
My clear skin.

What I'm looking forward to:
We have our big 18-week Ultrasound next week, where they check for any abnormalities, although our bloodwork came back perfect a couple of weeks ago. I can’t wait to see how much our little boy has grown and to see him bouncing around in there.

What I'm not looking forward to:
Nothing.

Weekly Wisdom:
Count your blessings!

Wie weit:
17 Wochen

Baby ist so gross wie eine:
Zwiebel

Insgesamte Gewichtszunahme:

Was ich vermisse:
Meine reine Haut.

Nichts.

Wöchentliche Weisheit:
Du kannst dich gluecklich schaetzen!

  1. Glad you're feeling better! For your ultrasound next week, especially if you know you are getting a 3D ultrasound, consider bringing a blank DVD to the appointment. My sister-in-law was able to get a recording of her ultrasound! My husband & I tried but the doctor's office I go to doesn't have recording capabilities. :( But it was worth a shot! :)

  3. How exciting for you! I'm preggo, too. I discovered you from my sweet blog friend, Kristen (Sunny with a Chance of Lemons). Yay, another preggo blogger friend! I am 22 weeks and also having a boy! I'm actually going to send you and Kristen an email about a blog post idea I have. Stay tuned and nice to meet you!

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit. My friend got me some comedy tickets to see "Nurse John", so I invited my two besties, and two of my old classmates, and we had a blast, he was so funny. We even got VIP acc...

First day of school

This year I have a first and a fifth grader! Aww, he was so tiny in the first picture in Pre-K! Last year of elementary school for this big kid, and Mama is not ready for middle school next year. The boys had a great start to their school year, still taking the bus every day, and while no one is a fan of going to school around here, they seem to like their teachers and classes so far. I'm glad to be getting back to more of a routine for them (and me), because let me just tell you...summer was rough! Haha.

January iPhone dump

A quick look at our January! Nursing Level 2 unlocked...after getting a heated vest, I now also have my personal space heater at work. No one warned me how cold hospitals are...haha! We watched our friend's dog for a few days and Mr. Finn was in heaven. He wouldn't let go of poor Nugget and always wanted him to be right with him. His eyes say "Save me!!!" Cherishing the times that he will cuddle with me. I know I don't have much time left, and that makes me really sad. Self-care...reading a book in our hammock while the kids were playing nicely together. Another downfall of them growing up, is that we now have to order adult meals at the restaurant. I might have to get another job in order to afford these two...haha.  Katie sent me this picture of Finn sleeping with their dog one night.  Sweet things my co-worker leaves for me when I was sick at work...she made me a to-go tissue packet because the box I kept carrying around kept falling out of my fanny pack that I...
