The Angry Hostage

A few weeks ago we were over at Katie's parents' house and Katie decided to "birdnap" an Angry Bird that her 14-year old brother Christian got as a present.
At first, I didn't get it, but after Katie sent this text to her Brother, it was game on!

It turned into a serious hostage situation and we just HAD to take it to the next level the following day...

How could we top ourselves each day? We were plotting and scheming for the perfect torture :) so naturally we fed him to our dog, Zuma! And this is when we came up with our alter-ego's "Pigs in Helmets" and if you've played Angry Birds before, you know what I mean.

Zuma thought he was in for a treat and excited to play with his new friend.

Day 3: Campfire and Bird, he did get toasty!

The grand finale! Bye Bye Birdie
Das große Finale! Bye Bye Birdie

In the end, the pigs in helmets got what they deserved, the Angry Bird was back home and we had some delicious "pigs in helmets" for christmas dinner!

Christian apparently got the hint that we really needed an angry bird as well and gave us one for Christmas!

And Zuma was happy too!

Und Zuma war auch glücklich!

Oh the fun you can have when you put yourself on house arrest for two weeks! :)

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
