Coupon Crazy

I have THE most awesome friend.  A friend who spends her lunch hour to compile coupons for me and if you think that is awesome, you should've seen the grocery list she wrote me.  The list had all of the items she suggested I should buy, the regular price, the coupon she had for me and how much the price after the coupon was, along with some explanations.   I was in awe. Completely blown away by her generosity and kindness, I just couldn't believe it.  So Katie and I shopped. Pretty much stuck to the list and walked away with 81% savings and all of these items for only $11! Oh and did I mention that we also got a $2 coupon off our next grocery bill?

Memories

One of my favorite things during my Trip to Germany  was going through the pile of boxes with my old stuff that is still stored at my dad's house. The plan was, to throw as much stuff away as I could emotionally part with and let's face it...I'm a pack rat!  I'm having a very hard time getting rid of memories, even if they seem very insignificant. The thing is, I probably had around 75 boxes and after living here for four years, I just knew, there was no way to get all of this stuff over here in my lifetime. Unless I wanted to pay a fortune in shipping.  So I spent 1.5 days in the basement of my dad's house, where one room is fully dedicated to my stuff, where my cousin joined me to laugh about all the crap I had accumulated and tried to be hard on myself, to let things go.  I probably have two moving boxes full of old letters from high school times, four boxes full of albums with pictures and tons of boxes with books. How can I ever part with my books?  It ...

...and I'm hooked!

A few weeks ago I told you how I wanted to start couponing . Katie was telling me how I'm doing it all wrong, I needed a coupon binder and basically a better plan before I start spending all of our money on things we don't need. She had a point, during our first trip to the grocery store a lot of things magically  made it  into our cart that we usually wouldn't have bought. I guess I didn't get the concept. Until last week, when one of my friends told me that she had been successfully couponing for the last year and shared all of her secrets with me! She didn't even stop there, the next few days she emailed me exact instructions and links on how and where to get certain items for free...I'm so grateful for good friends! Katie remained skeptical, while I got my new coupon binder in order and excitedly told her about all of these great deals we would be scoring the next day (okay, there might have been a little happy dance involved too), she asked me about 15...
