The Big Apple

I love New York.
I fell in love with it when I was traveling to the US for the very first time in 2001, while staying at the Au Pair School. It's been eight years since my last trip to the Big City and I was begging to go back!

Ich liebe New York.

My 30th Birthday seemed like the perfect occasion for an escape into a different world, my dad and his girlfriend thought the same thing and traveled all the way from Germany to meet us there.

Mein 30.
We spent three days in the magical city, taking the hop on/ hop off bus tour, visiting the Statue of Liberty, eating hot dogs and pretzels on the street, strolling through Central Park and enjoying the view on top of Rockefeller Center.

The skies were gray and it rained on and off, but we made the best out of it and I enjoyed every minute of it.

For my Birthday dinner, we went to Serendipity, which is not only featured in my favorite movie of all times, but also had amazing food and we ended the night with their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate!

Central Park: so peaceful in this big and vibrant city!

I love New York, but it's always good to go home and I sure missed the sunshine!:)

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
