WANTED: Handyman!

There is never enough money to do all of the Home Improvement Projects I would like to do and when it comes to it, I'm pretty much too technically challenged to do anything myself anyway. In these days I especially wish, that my family and friends were living closer, I know my dad and some of my handy friends would love to help. In fact, every time my friend Michael comes to visit from Germany I have something to do for him. Two years ago he installed my entertainment center, hung the flatscreen on the wall and installed a light. Last year he and some other friends helped carrying our hot tub in the backyard, just thinking about it makes me cringe, it was a PAIN!
I guess in situations like these you learn about true friendship, he's already planning his next trip here and it seems like my projects don't seem to bother him much. The list for his next visit is ready...JUST KIDDING!:)
Anyway, Katie is not that handy either, but at least she can use a drill, that's more than I can say from myself! We decided to add some hardware to our kitchen cabinets, first we wanted to hire a handyman, but her dad said it was easy and we could do it, so we did.

Just to clarify, it was not that easy. The drilling part, yes, but the measuring part was a pain in my butt! If you hold a leveler against it, you will find, that some of the handles are not that straight and if you open the cabinet on top of the microwave you will find that there is only one screw in the handle instead of two, since SOMEONE measured incorrectly. Okay okay, that someone was me! Ooopsie!
Oh well, instead of adding "value" to our kitchen, the future owners will just have to replace all of the cabinets now...hahaha. I don't notice it and like how it looks now and that's what's important.
And if you want to mess with Katie, next time you come over, just stare at the cabinets and ask innocently: "Are these handles crooked?" I dare you!:)

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
