Dog Training!

When we got our dogs last year, we immediately enrolled them in Puppy Training at Petsmart. As it turned out, that didn't change them into the perfect little dogs we hoped they would be. As you already know, we had some rough couple of months with them...chewed baseboards, remotes, couches and a lot of tears on my part. There was no way around it, we had to get help and train them properly, I did not want to live in a destroyed house anymore.

One Day, Zuma decided to bring branches from outside through the Dog Door into the living room, doesn't he look proud on what he's accomplished?:)

We started training them about four weeks ago and I cannot believe the changes we already accomplished. The first step was to teach them to respect us and show them who's the boss in this house, with basic commands like Sit, Down and Stay and loose leash walking.
We always had problems with both of them in public, Zuma would run away and not listen at all and Cosie would pull so hard on his leash, that we couldn't control him.
Four weeks later, it looks like this (Click on the Videos to take a look):

It's still a long way to go and only time will show if they get respect for our furniture, but I'm hoping for the best.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
