Disneyland

The next day of our short California trip was spent at the happiest place on Earth! Again, the beach house we stayed at was only about an hour or less away from Disneyland, so why not? We read that their Pixar fest was going on and that they had also brought our favorite light parade back for a few short months and we were excited to see it again...mostly Katie though, she was more excited than a kid on Christmas morning!


The Jungle Cruise, aka Grandpa's favorite ride. Fox was scared in February when we went, but loved it this time.

The only reason Fox wanted to go to Disneyland was Dole Whip. He had it in February and hasn't stopped talking about it since. He told us he would eat three huge portions, so we got him one pretty much in the first hour we entered the park and while he was excited to get it, he claimed that he didn't like it anymore and only ate half of it. This kid is the pickiest eater there ever was.

We usually visit Disneyland on a Friday and Saturday. This was the first time we've ever been on a Tuesday and we were shocked how crowded it was. June was definitely not the time to go! It was so hot too! Luckily Katie had bought the max pass, so we could get fast passes right on our phone, as well as order food through the phone and just pick it up, so that cut our wait times tremendously.

Katie really wanted him to ride Splash Mountain with her. I was super nervous about it, because he is scared of a lot of rides. I thought it would ruin the day for sure if she took him, but he said he wanted to try it, even after seeing the big waterfall drop, so off they went. This was his excited face right before the ride and it didn't change after the ride either...he loved it!

I got to ride most of the rides on that day and only had to sit out a few times, which was much needed!


One day shy of 32 weeks! I'm not sure how much bigger this belly can get in the next six weeks!

The Light parade wasn't until 9pm, which is way past Fox's bedtime. Last time we went to Disney, he asked to go back to the hotel around 6:30pm, but he powered through on this day, even though you could tell he was exhausted. Seeing his face when the parade started was everything though! He loved it when he was 1.5 and he still did. I probably watched him more than the parade!

We were all exhausted after a long day of fun, but I'm glad we got to take him one last time before he becomes a big brother and trips like these will be more difficult for a little while.

    Watching your little one watch the parade is the absolute best and my favorite memory of when we took Gracie at 3 years old. We've decided that we'll take will at 2, which means Grace just has to wait another 9 months before we go back! What's the drive like for you guys from AZ? It would be so awesome to live closer! Only a few more weeks left for you now. Yay!

      It sure is, I loved watching him! It's a 6-hour drive for us to Disney, but Katie's mom just purchased a house on the beach about an hour from Disneyland, so I'm seeing a lot more trips in the future! We took Fox for the first time at 18 months, and he absolutely loved it, but two is a great age for sure!

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Germany

I took a quick trip to Germany over spring break while the boys were on vacation with Katie. My dad had some medical issues over the past year, and it had been almost two years since I went, but a trip that was supposed to be five days in Germany, ended up being only four days because of flight delays. When in Germany for the first time, you HAVE to try Mettbroetchen. Needless to say, she was not a fan haha. A trip down memory lane is always on the agenda for the first day, walking around my village, visiting the homes where I grew up in (which are luckily still owned by my family), visiting my grandparent's graves, and eating all my favorite foods.  My only living grandparent, and one of the main reasons I wanted to go visit. It was so special to spend time with her. We had doener almost every day! August phone dump

It's September, and I couldn't be more excited for what's to come...Fall, Halloween, Christmas...it's my favorite time of year. But let's look back at our August! I've had them fill out the same back to school form since they started school many years ago. When all the kids go back to school, us moms celebrate with a back to school brunch and it was everything my heart needed and more! So many good conversations, so many laughs, and getting to hold baby Nora was the icing on the cake! Playdate with some friends!
