New Movie Room

Vor ein paar Wochen haben wir endlich das dritte Schlafzimmer fertig gestellt. Katie wollte ja unbedingt ein "Movie Theater" daraus machen, waere es nach mir gegangen, waere es wohl ein Gym/ Office geworden, aber ich bin mit dem Endresultat zufrieden. Die Waende haben wir dunkel lila gestrichen, ich hab ja gezweifelt, ob das eine gute Farbe sein wuerde, aber ich denke, es erfuellt den Zweck, denn es musste ja eine dunkle Farbe sein. Also, macht euch selbst ein Bild:




Ausserdem haben wir neuen Teppichboden legen lassen, nachdem ein paar Besucherhunde den alten Teppich "markiert" hatten, war das auch dringend noetig.:)
Unser naechstes Projekt wird der Garten, im November gehts los und ich freue mich schon, ihn endlich benutzen zu koennen, momentan ist er noch eine Katastrophe! Irgendwie komisch, in Deutschland wuerde man seinen Garten vermutlich fuer den Sommer startklar machen, hier ist es eher umgekehrt und man nutzt den Garten im Spaetherbst oder Winter.
In einer Woche kommt mein Vater mit seiner Freundin zu Besuch, die beiden bleiben fuer 2.5 Wochen und ich freue mich schon riesig!

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Germany

I took a quick trip to Germany over spring break while the boys were on vacation with Katie. My dad had some medical issues over the past year, and it had been almost two years since I went, but a trip that was supposed to be five days in Germany, ended up being only four days because of flight delays. When in Germany for the first time, you HAVE to try Mettbroetchen. Needless to say, she was not a fan haha. A trip down memory lane is always on the agenda for the first day, walking around my village, visiting the homes where I grew up in (which are luckily still owned by my family), visiting my grandparent's graves, and eating all my favorite foods.  My only living grandparent, and one of the main reasons I wanted to go visit. It was so special to spend time with her. We had doener almost every day! Family dinner at my favorite restaurant one night, I absolutely loved how many people were able to join us even though it was very short notice. We also had breakfast at my grandma'...

August phone dump

It's September, and I couldn't be more excited for what's to come...Fall, Halloween, Christmas...it's my favorite time of year. But let's look back at our August! I've had them fill out the same back to school form since they started school many years ago. When all the kids go back to school, us moms celebrate with a back to school brunch and it was everything my heart needed and more! So many good conversations, so many laughs, and getting to hold baby Nora was the icing on the cake! Playdate with some friends! Fox read with me in the car while we were waiting for Finn's bus...it made me so happy! He asked me to make him an "ultimate chill space" while he was at school, and this is what I came up with. He approved, and even tried to have a sleepover with me there, but we only made it for about an hour, before we went to bed.
