The following day, we took a ferry to an island called Put in Bay. My friend Tiffany, who is originally from Ohio, had told me about it, and it ended up being our favorite day.
We rented a golf cart for the day and started cruising around, and found this little adventure center, where the boys could do mining, which is Finn's all time favorite activity wherever we go. He was so happy.
We took a short tour in an underground cave, and Finn was SO SCARED that the cave was going to fall on us. He hated every minute of it, and while the tour was only 15 minutes, he couldn't wait to get out of there.
They also had this labyrinth scavenger hunt, which was a lot of fun as well.
We went to the butterfly house as well, but it was pretty small compared to the one we have here in Arizona.
Obviously we couldn't pass up the local candy store, we actually went there twice on that day.
A perfect lunch outside, the weather was so perfect, I actually wore a sweatshirt most of the day.
Eating candy on the back of the golf cart, what more can you want?
We didn't really have any plans that day, just cruised around and stopped wherever we wanted, it was amazing.
How cute is this pink house?
I loved all the houses on the island, and obviously looked on zillow at the end of the night...haha!
The kids didn't believe me that this is not the ocean, but "only" a lake.
On the ferry ride home, they played a made up game of "Guess Who" with some of the souvenir animals that Finn bought on this island.
We were all so tired!
It was the very best day, and I was surprised that the boys also rated this day as their number one from the entire trip (compared to water park and amusement park fun).
Tiffany always gives me the best recommendations and trip itineraries. Our trip to Colorado last year was another recommendation from her, and I was joking with the kids, that we'll have to see where Tiffany goes this summer, so we can copy the trip next year!
More to come!
