Roadtrip Day 4 and 5

While we were in Colorado, the boys and I tried White Water Rafting for the very first time. There was an area that was too dangerous for Finn to participate in, so him and I stepped off the boat for that part, but as you can see, Fox had an absolute blast.

It was a 3 hour tour, but felt much shorter than that, and while Finn will tell you that it was "terrible", his smiles and squeals told a different story.

This about sums up the rest of the night...haha.

On our last day in Colorado, we went to Purgatory Ski Resort, which was right across the street from our rental. Finn was super excited to do some more mining, he couldn't get enough.

We went up the ski lift and while it was a very long ride, it was probably one of my favorite parts of the day. It was so peaceful and beautiful.

Poor Fox had to ride by himself, but he said he didn't mind.

The alpine slides were next, Finn was super nervous about doing it and told me to go slow, but once we were on it, he kept yelling at me to go faster, faster, faster!

Fox was tall enough to do the big mountain coaster by himself, and we ended up doing it twice, it was so fun.

We took a short drive up to Silverton, an old mining town, and the drive was absolutely stunning.

Finn was all about the gift shops and spending his money. The store owner in this particular shop was so kind, and let the kids pick out some rocks for free, because they were so "well behaved and polite".

The town was something out of a picture book, unpaved roads and an old church in the center of it.

The boys even found a playground.

On our way home, we stopped by the ski resort one more time to do the mountain coaster again.

It felt so good to be outside, after we had spent the last month mostly indoors in Phoenix.

Finn took a walk with me around our neighborhood lake after we got home, and it was the prefect ending to our trip.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
