Roadtrip Day 1

The boys and I escaped the heat in Phoenix for a week and went on a roadtrip to Colorado. Now that I have a smaller car, but still being a notorious over-packer, the car was packed to the brim!

I printed out some roadtrip games for Finn to do, because he always struggles with long car rides, and I was nervous about this trip with him.

To break the trip up a little, we did a one night stop in Flagstaff, and met up with our friends Kristy and Jake there.

We can't go to Flagstaff, and not visit our favorite obstacle course!

This was Finn's first time trying the kids course, and he was super nervous about it. Next year, Fox will be old enough to do the adult course with me, and I cannot wait!

He did so well, and I was really proud of him!

The big kids zoomed through the course a few times.

We grabbed some lunch, and then headed up to Snowbowl, the local ski resort here.

They had summer tubing set up for the kids, and while it was hot, they all went up and down five times.

Big kids were exhausted...haha.

Kristy brought her dog with her, so she stayed at the resort while I took all the kids up the mountain with the gondola.

We went downtown for some ice cream, before checking into the hotel.

The water was freezing, but that didn't stop the boys from playing in the pool for hours. They ran back and forth from the pool to the hot tub.

It was a beautiful day, and a great start to our summer vacation!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
