December iPhone dump

Some more glimpses of our December!
Airplane the Elf returned from the North Pole, and Finn was very excited about his arrival.

We had a game night with their great-grandparents.

Always my cuddler!

Somehow Fox used his master negotiation skills and convinced me one morning to let him skip school and have a special day with just me. Our first stop was Target where we spent way too much money on things we don't need.

Like these chocolates that he only wanted because a gamer made them.

We met our friend Allison for a walk and then all had lunch together.

I told him he couldn't have any screens while he is not in school, so he kept busy with reading the new book he got at Target and playing Monopoly with me.

That night, he asked Allison to take him on a special one on one date to his favorite restaurant and she happily obliged.

Nikolaus came on December 6th and filled their boots.

One night I was really tired and told Finn I was going to sleep, but he could color in my bed for a bit longer if he wanted to. Never in a million years would I have thought to wake up to this Smurf! Needless to say, markers are off limits in the bedroom now.

We went to watch my 3 year old niece during her first recital, it might have been one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Breakfast at our favorite spot with this smurf...it took about 3 baths to get him back to a normal color.

We explored a new playground.

I hosted my annual cookie and gift exchange with some of my favorite people.

I took the boys to Illumination, a Christmas drive through experience, and it was a wild ride to say the least.

Goodbye dinner for Allison who was going back to Michigan.

It's always so sad when she leaves us, but we can't wait for her to come back soon.

This was one of my favorite days at work ever. I don't even remember what patients I had or if the shift was a shit show, but I remember that we never turned on the bright lights at the nurses station, the twinkle lights, and how my co-worker brought a speaker from home to play Christmas music for us. It was perfect.

We went and saw the new Sonic movie at the theater, the boys had been waiting for it to come out for months!

He cracks me up!

Note to self: ban all slime from the house!

We decorated a gingerbread house.

My sweet niece turned three!

Working with the best crew the day before Christmas Eve!

Neither Jessica nor I had our kids for Christmas morning, so we continued our tradition of hiking on Christmas morning which was perfect in every way.

Still my baby!

And my big sick baby.

Picking some oranges in the backyard and using the new electric juicer that we got for Christmas.

I went to the Botanical Garden to see their luminaries. It was so beautiful.

And that wraps up 2024!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
