Fox's Birthday Celebration

For his birthday celebration this year, Fox opted to have a sleepover with his best friend at the Great Wolf Lodge instead of having a big party. These boys hadn't seen each other since October, but it didn't take long for them to catch up and be as crazy as ever.

Jake had never been to the Great Wolf Lodge, this was Fox's third time, and both boys had a blast.

After we went swimming for a few hours, the boys dug into the birthday cake. The Mamas were already exhausted, even though I had left Finn with Katie. They had so much energy!

We had a nice dinner together, before letting the boys play at the resort.

The Magic Quest game is always a big hit.

We also visited the mine for the first time, which really was a mirror maze.

Next up was the ropes course. The boys did so great. Last August I went on it with Fox and he was terrified. This year he was super confident and even cheered on his buddy when he got scared. I could hear him yell from the top "You got this Jake! Good job!"

We played some arcade games as well and probably spent like $20 for the boys to win some candy. That's how it always is, right?

Fox with all of his prizes, he only wanted twizzlers.

We had some ice scream, watched a movie in the room, and the boys definitely stayed up longer than I did.

The next morning, we got some donuts and then returned to the water park for a couple of hours.

This is his "why do you keep taking pictures of me?" face.

The boys were so sad when it was time to go.

We all decided that this was the best way to celebrate all of our birthdays from now on. I'm curious to see what he will decide next year, but I have a strong feeling that it will be a resort stay with just one friend again.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...
