November 2020 iPhone Dump

November 3rd, 2020...election day. I would vote for this little guy here any day of the week. It was so crazy to think that four years prior Fox had worn the exact same shirt. Don't blink.

Finn has been enjoying his weekly sports classes, although I think he likes the game room there a little better. We enrolled him for more classes, because Fox is going back to school and since we don't have many playdates anymore, we thought it would help with his socialization a little.

The boys play on the trampoline almost every single day, it's been such an amazing addition to our backyard. And when I see moments like this, my heart just melts.

One night after Finn went to bed, Fox and I had an intense game of candyland.

It's so odd to me how both of my kids were raised the same, but their eating habits are so different. Finn will eat almost anything and Fox has been picky from the time we first started him on solids and it's still a struggle today.

Fox has been doing school at home since August, so Finn and I had to spend a lot of time at home. I often feel bad that he doesn't get to do as many fun things as Fox did when he was that age, but that's just the world we live in now and thankfully he doesn't seem to mind.

He has been sleeping in my bed for over a year, but I was finally able to transition him back into his own room at night...he was sleeping on a mattress on the floor in this picture, because one of my friends stayed overnight and he asked her to sleep in his bed.

Big brother reading a story to little brother, such a sweet sight.

Netflix and chill

We like to decorate early around here, so we pulled out the Christmas decorations in early November and they made all of us so happy.

Mr. Serious

He asked me to take this picture of him.

I am so blessed to be their mom.

Like every year, they loved the Christmas village. We lost more pieces this year because they play with it so much, but that's okay...I don't want this to be a thing they can't touch and I'm glad they enjoy it.

He asked me to take this picture too...haha.

And of course little brother needs to do everything big brother does.

It makes me so nervous that he is able to climb up there, because he has no idea how to get down. Sometimes he wanders off in the playroom and then I hear him yelling for me a couple of minutes later because he got stuck up there.

He loves painting. I found some ornaments from last year and he probably painted 50 of them this season, but we have lots of family and friends that loved them.

I don't know how this happened, but one night he asked to sleep in his crib and so he did all night. I tried to put him in there again the next night, but he wasn't having any of that nonsense.

The weather has been so beautiful, so we were able to spend more time outside.
I love that dimple so much.

Fox is still into building forts in the living room and he put Finn in his little "prison" under the coffee table, but he didn't seem to mind.

One morning after Finn had just woken up, he asked to go outside. I let him out while I was brushing my teeth and when I came to check on him, he was just sitting there like an old man, enjoying the morning sun. So cute!

His shirt says it all.

One afternoon my sweet friend Becky watched the boys for me for a few hours. When I came to pick them up, I found them like this.

The boys asked to go to the playground and we are all so glad to be able to go back there now.

He gives me anxiety when he does stuff like this, but then I think about the stuff I did when I was little, which doesn't help with my anxiety, but I try to remember that this is part of being a child and that I can't hover over him all the time.

We visited Illumination, a drive through light show and the boys loved it.

He is funny and he knows it too.

We met up with Fox's bestie and his family at the train park one morning. The weather was beautiful and the boys were so happy to see each other again. They met in preschool when they were three and it makes me so happy that they are still this close, even though they go to different schools now.

I mean, look at this. My heart is exploding!

Group hug!

I was procrastinating getting Finn his first haircut, because I feel like once they get that first cut, they look so much older. Fox got his first hair cut when he was 19 months old and I'm shocked we made it this long with Finn. But then I took this picture of the back of his head one day and realized that it was probably time.

He worked on this during one of his zoom calls and it's SO Fox.
"I'm thankful for my family and for my friends too. Without TV I don't know what I'd do. I'm glad to have candy in winter, spring, summer and fall, but it's Dylan that I'm thankful for most of all."

First haircut or not...he's still my baby!

We had lunch with some friends one day and Fox took this picture of Finn and I. It only took 9 attempts...ha!

Another Christmas drive through light show to wrap up the month of November!

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit. My friend got me some comedy tickets to see "Nurse John", so I invited my two besties, and two of my old classmates, and we had a blast, he was so funny. We even got VIP acc...

May iPhone dump

Some of my favorite moments of May that haven't made it on the blog yet. May has been such an incredible month and I wish I could turn back time and do it all over again. Between graduating from nursing school and all the celebrations that came with that, Fox's 10th birthday, Finn's Kindergarten graduation, and all the sweet little moments in between, it was a month I will never forget.  Kindergarten Homework for this cutie, he is very smart, but hates doing it. This was my favorite view at school, right when you exited the building. This was the place where we met up with friends during breaks, and after every exam, and I wanted to take a picture to remember this special place.  Making paper airplanes has been a new favorite for him. This was two days before I took my final exam, and I probably should've been studying, but having an ice cream date with the boys sounded much more fun. He loves to make us laugh. While Finn and I were getting ready for bed, I asked him to...

December iPhone dump

December came and went in a flash! We visited Santa! I started a new job in November as a patient care technician in the Oncology unit at the hospital I'm hoping to get hired by after I graduate. I have heard from many people that this hospital usually hires nurses from within, so I wanted to get my foot in the door, and also gain some more experience before graduating. I was really nervous about handling two 12 hour days per week, on top of school and sharing custody of the kids, and while it hasn't been easy, it has been very rewarding. I love the unit I'm on, the patients, the people I work with, and it's a very humbling experience to work in Oncology.  I took a screen shot of my activity after one of my shifts, I usually average between 7.5-9.5 miles per day, just from walking all over the unit.  The boys are playing bar with their cousin at Grandma's house.  We celebrated their cousin's first birthday! S'mores in the backyard. Nikolaus (a german traditi...
