Zoolights

Last year we bought Zoolight tickets and weren't able to go, because Fox got really sick and then December kind of flew by in a flash, like it always does. So this year, we decided to go to their Member Preview Night, which is a few days before they open to the public. I always love those nights, because they are way less crowded, since it's just for zoo members.
It was a perfect night and Fox loved seeing all the displays, especially this spiderweb and the spider!

These are their Spiderman moves!

Katie is deathly afraid of snakes, so when Fox spotted one, he was all about riling her up about it. These two are so alike, I love watching their relationship.

We also went to see the dinosaurs again. When we went a few weeks ago with Fox's friend Jake, he was a little scared of them, but he did so much better this time around, even though it was now dark on top of the "scary" dinosaurs. Katie obviously loved it.

We watched their light show a couple of times and played on the playground before it was way past someone's bed time and we had to go home.
It was such a great night spent with my two favorite people. Love this time of year!

  1. So fun! Don't you just LOVE Christmas lights? We do River of Lights at our Botanical Gardens and it's one of my fav holiday traditions. That last picture of the lights on the water is absolutely beautiful!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
