Mud Pies

Last week, my friend Kristy invited us to make some mud pies. I wasn't sure if Fox would like to get dirty and if I had to take a guess, I would've said he wouldn't get into the mud, but he proved me wrong! The boys had so much fun together, they seriously giggled and laughed the entire time. These water spray bottles were the hit...look at both of their tongues - pure concentration! Here they are spraying Kristy, they thought it was hilarious!  Kristy's community pool was right next door, so we were able to shower these dirty boys off and go play at the playground afterwards! I just love seeing him so happy! I would say that he prefers to play by himself and he can be shy at times, but they played their hearts out and it was the best thing to watch.  And catching up with my sweet friend while the boys played wasn't a bad thing either! California Trip

A few weeks ago Katie's parents invited us to join them for a short trip to California. Grandpa always wanted to take Fox to Knott's Berry Farm because Fox loves Charlie Brown and the Peanuts, so that is what we did.  I've never been there and it had been over a decade (or two) since Katie had been. The weather was perfect and it was nice to get out of the Phoenix heat for a few days.  Surprisingly, the lines were super long, Disneyland Style long to be exact.  This kid doesn't need amusement parks, all he ever wants to do is to play with Grandpa and these two had a blast! Until someone boarded the train before him and he "lost" the race. It's hard to be (almost) three! What I didn't like about Knott's Berry Farm is that there weren't many rides you could do as a family. I mean, I guess we could've all squeezed onto Peppermint Patty's Truck, but we didn't. ...
