Week 40

May 10th, 2014

How far along:
40 weeks! Time to get out, Baby!

Baby is the size of a:
Small Pumpkin

Total weight gain:
33 lbs at my last doctor’s appointment

Maternity Clothes?
Definitely getting tight!

Stretch Marks?
No.

Sleep?
I’ve been getting up every two hours this last week, seems like my body is preparing me for what it’s like to have a newborn at home!

Best moment of the Week:
Enjoying the last few days with just the two of us!

Movement:
Still going strong! You can see him kicking in the video below!

Food Cravings:
None.

Belly Button in or out:
In. It’s super bruised though!

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
Same as last week, with tons of braxton hicks contractions. Doctor’s appointment still didn’t show any progress and if he’s not here by Wednesday, the doctor wants to schedule an induction before the baby gets too big in there! I don’t want to get induced, so I’m hoping he will make his debut soon!

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
No.

Have you Started to Show yet?
I’m still amazed by my big belly and try to enjoy the last few days with it!

What I miss:
Not being in pain and sleep. Having energy and feeling like myself.

What I'm looking forward to:
Meeting our little boy soon!

What I'm not looking forward to:
Labor, Delivery and Postpartum Symptoms!

Weekly Wisdom:
I’ve been so blessed to have Katie by my side this entire pregnancy and I have no idea how I would’ve managed without her! She’s been AMAZING (she’s making me a smoothie while I type this!) and I can’t wait to see her loving on our boy!

Wie weit:
40 Wochen! Es ist Zeit, heraus zu kommen, Baby!

Baby ist so gross wie ein:
Kleiner Kuerbis

Insgesamte Gewichtszunahme:
15 kg bei meinem letzten Arzttermin

Umstandskleidung?
Werden langsam eng!

Schwangerschaftsstreifen?
Nein.

Schlaf?

Was ich vermisse:

Unser Baby bald kennenzulernen!

  1. Oh you're still pregnant too. I'm 40+5 today, tomorrow I'm having a midwife appointment. where I will likely get a membrane sweep and be given an induction date.
Our little lady seems a bit confused where the exit is, she's still happy kicking around just like your little guy.

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...
