Week 39

May 3rd, 2014

How far along:
39 weeks!

Baby is the size of a:
Mini Watermelon. The doctor measured him and he estimated him to be 7lbs, 13oz. We’ll have a big boy!

Total weight gain:
34+ lbs

Maternity Clothes?
Same as last week

Stretch Marks?
No.

Sleep?
Getting up 2-3 times each night now to use the bathroom, sometimes I just have to get up because I’m in so much pain and walking around for a minute usually helps for another few hours of sleep.

Best moment of the Week:
Katie had to work last weekend and I just stayed home for two full days, not getting out of my pajamas and just relaxing and getting a few things done around the house. It was nice, although I missed my favorite girl!

Movement:
It feels like he’s trying to push his way out of there! He mostly seems to be on my right side and he HATES it when I try to lay on that side, he immediately pushes and kicks and makes it so uncomfortable and painful for me until I roll over.

Food Cravings:
Magnum Ice Cream Bars...it’s becoming a bad habit!

Belly Button in or out:
In. I’m so glad it never came out!

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
Mostly the same: Back and rib pains, carpal tunnel, frequent bathroom trips, swelling, exhaustion.
No news from the doctor, he thinks the baby dropped a little bit, but I’m still not dialated at all, which was very disappointing.

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
No.

Have you Started to Show yet?
I’m so sad that I will have to say goodbye to my belly soon. I’m really upset over it. Can I just keep it forever? I’m also scared about how my belly will look for a few months after the birth.

What I miss:
Not being in pain and sleep. Having energy and feeling like myself.

What I'm looking forward to:
Meeting our little boy soon! I still can’t believe we’re going to have a baby any day now!

What I'm not looking forward to:
I’m terrified at this point. I never thought I would be, but it’s getting so real right now!

Weekly Wisdom:
9 months go faster than you think!

Wie weit:
39 Wochen!

Baby ist so gross wie ein:
Mini- Wassermelone.

Was ich vermisse:

Unser Baby bald kennenzulernen!

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...
