Week 29

February 22nd, 2014

How far along:
29 weeks

Baby is the size of a:
Butternut Squash

Total weight gain:
20+ lbs

Maternity Clothes?
I caved in and bought myself some clothes this week. A maternity shirt, a nursing tank and a nursing bra. I probably need some more T-Shirts for when it gets really hot and I’m still looking for that perfect nightgown for the hospital. I also have no idea what to wear for our maternity photo shoot...any input?

Stretch Marks?
No new ones. I can’t even find the one on my backside anymore, which is probably for the best!

Sleep?
Terrible this week! I can deal with the trips to the bathroom, but I’ve been having horrible backaches and can’t get comfortable. It feels like I have a pinched nerve and it only hurts on the right side of my back.

Best moment of the Week:
Taking some baby classes with Katie and buying some cute outfits for the little one...we just can’t help ourselves! I also didn’t get a call from my doctor, which means that I passed my glucose test...yay!

Movement:
All the time!

Food Cravings:
I was craving smoothies this week, but unfortunately only had one so far! I’m also still drinking chocolate milk like it’s going out of style!

Belly Button in or out:
Still in.

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
The backache is getting really bad. The only time I’m not hurting is when I stand or walk around, so when I can’t take it anymore, I put my work laptop on a countertop and work standing up. Nights are even worse and I can’t imagine how much more intense it will get in the next few weeks.

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Feeling great!

Have you Started to Show yet?
Yes! I do like to mess with people though and tell them I’m just a little chubby, when they ask me if I’m pregnant...haha.

What I miss:
Not being in pain sitting or laying down. My clear skin...although, I’m almost forgetting what that was like...it’s been so long! I miss some of my regular clothes and sleeping well.

What I'm looking forward to:
Our baby shower at the end of March.

What I'm not looking forward to:
More aches and pains and having a 70-hour work week starting on Monday!

Weekly Wisdom:
Wow...we learned so much during our baby classes this week. Katie was probably most shocked about the fact that you’re supposed to stay home with the baby for at least two months...lol.

Wie weit:
29 Wochen

Baby ist so gross wie ein:
Butternut-Kürbis (nennt man das in Deutschland so???)

Insgesamte Gewichtszunahme:
Mehr als 9kg.

Umstandskleidung?

Was ich vermisse:

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit. My friend got me some comedy tickets to see "Nurse John", so I invited my two besties, and two of my old classmates, and we had a blast, he was so funny. We even got VIP acc...

January iPhone dump

A quick look at our January! Nursing Level 2 unlocked...after getting a heated vest, I now also have my personal space heater at work. No one warned me how cold hospitals are...haha! We watched our friend's dog for a few days and Mr. Finn was in heaven. He wouldn't let go of poor Nugget and always wanted him to be right with him. His eyes say "Save me!!!" Cherishing the times that he will cuddle with me. I know I don't have much time left, and that makes me really sad. Self-care...reading a book in our hammock while the kids were playing nicely together. Another downfall of them growing up, is that we now have to order adult meals at the restaurant. I might have to get another job in order to afford these two...haha.  Katie sent me this picture of Finn sleeping with their dog one night.  Sweet things my co-worker leaves for me when I was sick at work...she made me a to-go tissue packet because the box I kept carrying around kept falling out of my fanny pack that I...

First day of school

This year I have a first and a fifth grader! Aww, he was so tiny in the first picture in Pre-K! Last year of elementary school for this big kid, and Mama is not ready for middle school next year. The boys had a great start to their school year, still taking the bus every day, and while no one is a fan of going to school around here, they seem to like their teachers and classes so far. I'm glad to be getting back to more of a routine for them (and me), because let me just tell you...summer was rough! Haha.
