Climbing in Trees

A few months ago a friend of mine posted on facebook about this Outdoor Adventure Ropes Course in Flagstaff and I immediately knew that I wanted to check it out. I had done something similar many years ago in Germany and loved it, so last weekend Ashlie, Katie and I finally went.

They take you through a kids training course first, followed by four adult ropes courses, high up in the trees, that continually became harder as you went.
Katie is deathly afraid of heights and I was so proud of her for doing this with us and she did awesome!

It was higher than it looks on the pictures!

There was a big church group in front of us and many of the girls from this group needed to be rescued, because they couldn’t go through the second obstacle, so a guide came up and lowered them down with ropes. Because of that group, there was some waiting between the stations involved and unfortunately we had to leave after only completing the first two courses, because we had to be back in Phoenix on time to give Zuma his pill. We got lucky though, when Katie explained our situation to the owner, he offered us some free admission tickets to come back another time! So nice!

So nett!

We all had a blast and even though it was scary at times, we’re planning to go back in a couple of weeks and spend the whole weekend in Flagstaff with Katie’s Family. I can’t wait!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
