May Days

Can you believe it's already May?
We just finished our Home Show last weekend and from January until now, we had one Show after the other, which is probably why my days, weeks and months were flying by. Our next Show isn't until August, so it'll be nice to have a little break and I can't wait for all of the fun that this month promises.
"Treasure Hunts" at Goodwill, Birthday Parties and our 5th Year Anniversary are just the beginning, followed with my Citizenship Test on the 14th! I've been studying for weeks now, but it kind of seems like this test is going to be a joke...and just because I said it, I will fail...haha. We'll see, so cross your fingers for me!
The real excitement won't start until later that night though, when I'm leaving for Germany... leaving for Home!
I'm looking forward to seeing my family, my friends and eating everything I've been dreaming of for the last 18 months. And yes, I made a list of all of the foods I need to eat while I'm there!
I'm looking forward to having movie nights with my mom, going to amusement parks with my brothers, knitting sessions with my grandma, bicycle trips to the Netherlands with my dad, a family reunion, shopping trips and catching up with my cousin, the third Cali-Girls Reunion in Cologne, and re-living the past with some of my best friends.
I probably have to re-schedule my flight and stay for a month, judging from the list of activities that I want to do and people I want to see there...why yes, I made a list for that, too!
Please, please, please, let there be sun when I'm there! I don't care about the cold, but I can't stand the rain!
It'll be a great month! Feeling blessed.

  2. Ok - are you well prepared?
    Let's see:
    - What are two Cabinet-level positions?
    - We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
    - What is one right of freedom from the First Amendment?
Got it? Perfect! Can't wait to hear on Monday how everything went! Toi, toi, toi!

I hope I got that right! :) Haven't studied in a week and have to review everything this weekend...not too worried about the test though, I mean 6 out of 10 should be easy, right?
      And then off to Germany!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
