Wimbledon - Kind of

One night after work, Ashlie, Katie and I went to play tennis in a nearby park. This was my second time playing, Ashlie and Katie on the other hand were pros (at least in my opinion) and made me run for my money. It was a lot of fun though and I hope we can make it a weekly thing.

My New Ride!

Last week I had to say goodbye to my beloved little car. I loved that car and giving it up was not an easy thing to do for me. It was my first car in the U.S., my first brand spanking new car and the first car that I bought and paid in full. You're asking why I sold it then? About two years ago, Katie bought herself a little "Midlife Crisis". When she reads this, she will totally protest about it, but that's how I like to call her car. She calls it "The Shark", not that it matters, but I just had to throw it in there. For good measure you know?   According to its license plate, you might as well call it "The Shrek", but whatever. I wanted to post a picture of it, so you'd understand, but she didn't think it was safe to do, but she said I could tell you what it says, it's "THESHRK". She insists it's the Shark, I'm pretty sure it's Shrek. ANYWAY, when she bought "the Shrek", the car of her dre...

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!

During our last Home Show, our vendors donated Home Improvement Items and Services to a Non-Profit Company, which they raffled off during the Show to raise money for the families of fallen police officers and fire fighters. There were some awesome prizes to win, but I didn't think our staff was allowed to participate, so half an hour before the Show closed, I asked my manager if we were allowed to play and to my surprise we were, since we had to buy the raffle tickets and therefore would be supporting the cause. Believe me, you've never seen me grab my wallet faster and I was convinced I would win some great prize, which was probably the same conviction I have every week, that I'm going to win the Powerball! A few days later I got a call, that I had indeed won a tubular skylight including installation, valued at $500! I was beyond excited, especially since Katie and I had been talking about buying one for a few months now. I don't even know how to describe what it i...

Raclette Night

Last weekend I invited my "german girls" over for Raclette. If you don't know what Raclette is, then you're probably not from Germany, so here is the gist: It's a small table top grill with little pans that go underneath, you cook your meat on the top and vegetables with cheese underneath and it's freaking delicious! It was so nice to have (almost) everyone together and even though we short circuited the house with the raclettes twice and Zuma and Cosie were acting like some dang fools (no surprises here), we had fun. And I was way too busy having fun to even take one decent picture! I took like three total and two of those were from before everyone came, so this is all I can give you today...
