Zuma's first haircut

My lion is no longer a lion.
What a sad day it was.
Yes, I am THAT "mom". The one that almost cries about a first haircut. I said almost!

Katie tried to convince me to get him shaved for months and I was fighting it with all I had...and lost in the end. She couldn't deal with the mountains of hair in our house anymore... and here I thought I was the neat freak.
She thought it would be much more comfortable for him in the summer and while this might be true, I miss my fluffy lion.

If it wasn't for his weird personality, we wouldn't have recognized him anymore, he looks like a totally different dog to me. Even Cosie didn't recognize him, he was barking at Zuma for the first two minutes until he realized it was his brother he was barking at!
I can't believe how skinny he is!

I think he likes it though. While he used to sleep on the cold tile floor, he is now back on his bed at night.
I still hope it grows back fast.
I always ask myself how other people deal with piles and piles of dog hair, especially when they have small children. Do they sweep every day? Please, DO TELL!
But for now, I guess I'll enjoy my less hairy house.

April phone dump

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. I tried to hold his hand to let him know I was there, and he kept giving me a thumbs up. Reading in bed with them is my favorite. We went to play mini golf, and it was an absolutely shit show. Just look at Finn in the background, he was on fire on this day. That's his "cool face". Not pictured are all the times he melted down because he wasn't "good enough". I really need to stop playing this game with him, because it happens every single time...haha.  Book Club! I wasn't a fan of the book, but it was great getting out and talking about books with other readers. He got into kinetic sand for a few weeks, and I felt like my floors were covered in s...

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...
