Dust Storm!

We had a crazy dust storm here in Phoenix last night. Let me just say, I love storms and I love monsoon season.
After we saw the severe weather warnings on TV, we rushed outside to watch it. While I used to hate rain when I lived in Germany (probably because there was nothing but rain), I love it here. The smell of rain, the sound, and if it's combined with thunder, it's almost as soothing as the beach to me. There is nothing better than falling asleep to a thunderstorm.

Gestern abend hatten wir einen verrückten Sandsturm hier in Phoenix. Ich liebe Stürme und ich liebe die Monsunzeit.

Nachdem wir die Unwetterwarnungen im Fernsehen sahen, eilten wir nach draußen, um das Spektakel mitzuerleben. Während ich Regen in Deutschland hasste (wahrscheinlich weil es nichts anderes als Regen gab), so liebe ich es hier. Der Geruch von Regen, der Klang, und wenn es dann auch noch gewittert, ist es fuer mich fast so beruhigend wie der Strand. Es gibt nichts besseres als zu einem Gewitter einzuschlafen.

Some more pictures of our April. He's my bed hog, but I love sharing the bed with him and the way he comes find me in his sleep to snuggle up to me. Work Crew! Easter Preparations...it took me a solid hour to fill all the eggs. Finn chipped his permanent front tooth, and had to get it fixed. He was so brave. July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...
