Weekend

Letzten Freitag habe ich mir einen langersehnten Traum erfuellt, ich habe mir ein Laufband gekauft! Ich hatte mir ein bestimmes Laufband von Costco ausgesucht, was leider $950 gekostet hatte und da haette ich lange sparen koennen. Dieses Laufband sollte es sein, und kein anderes. Zufaellig habe ich dann eine Anzeige im Internet gefunden, wo jemand genau dieses Laufband verkauft hat, sechs Monate alt und sie musste verkaufen, dass sie ans andere Ende der USA zieht. Sie wollte $700 dafuer haben, also habe ich ihr $500 geboten!:) Zuerst schrieb sie mir eine Email, dass sie es mir fuer $600 gibt, worauf ich erstmal nicht geantwortet habe, da ich noch am ueberlegen war. Ein paar Stunden spaeter schrieb sie mir dann wieder, dass sie es mir fuer $550 gibt und da habe ich zugeschlagen! Ich freue mich wirklich riesig! Das Problem an der Sache ist nur, dass es super schwer ist und wir eine schmale Treppe haben, die auch noch ueber Eck geht. Gestern war Katie's Bruder mit einem Kumpel hier, aber nachdem sie sich das Laufband und die Treppe angeschaut haben, haben sie es gleich aufgegeben und es gar nicht erst versucht! Und nun warte ich darauf, dass Katie's Vater aus dem Urlaub kommt und er vielleicht eine bessere Idee hat, wie wir es nach oben bekommen, denn im Erdgeschoss ist dafuer wirklich ueberhaupt kein Platz. Aergerlich, aber ich hoffe, dass wir es unbeschadet nach oeben bekommen. Und hier ist es:

Mein restliches Wochenende war auch super. Samstag waren wir bei Ikea, danach Shoppen, im Kino und in unserem Lieblingsrestaurant essen. 
Sonntag habe ich mich mit einer Freundin von mir und ihrem Mann getroffen. Wir hatten uns 2001 in unserem Au Pair Jahr in Rhode Island kennen gelernt und wie es der Zufall so will, wohnen wir nach acht Jahren wieder im gleichen Staat, sie in Tucson und ich hier in Phoenix. Es war wirklich schoen, die beiden nach solanger Zeit wieder zu sehen und hoffe, dass wir das bald wiederholen werden! 
Ausserdem habe ich am ganzen Wochenende gelesen, "Twilight", ich konnte einfach nicht aufhoeren, ich war suechtig! Den Film werde ich morgen zum ersten Mal sehen und ich bin schon gespannt, ob er genauso gut wie das Buch ist. Und nun werde ich das zweite Buch anfangen...!

    Also wenn Bill hier waere, wuerde ich ihn gleich engagieren, euch zu helfen. Der war in seinem frueheren Leben mal ein Moebellieferant fuer Bueromoebel. Aber leider ist der gerade in Oesterreich und kommt erst Mitte Juli wieder nach Hause. Hoffe dass Katies Papa das schafft....LG, Alex

    vielen Dank für deinen Kommentar. Es tut mir leid, dass du das auch schon erleben musstest!
    Meine Gasteltern sind einfach super! Da bin ich auch sehr froh drüber :)
    Ach ja, ich lese hier auch immer fleißig mit, hab mich nur noch nicht geoutet ;) Hab auch vor ein paar Wochen mal dein ganzes Archiv durchgelesen ;)

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. January iPhone dump

A quick look at our January! Nursing Level 2 unlocked...after getting a heated vest, I now also have my personal space heater at work. No one warned me how cold hospitals are...haha! We watched our friend's dog for a few days and Mr. Finn was in heaven. He wouldn't let go of poor Nugget and always wanted him to be right with him. His eyes say "Save me!!!" Cherishing the times that he will cuddle with me. I know I don't have much time left, and that makes me really sad. Self-care...reading a book in our hammock while the kids were playing nicely together. Another downfall of them growing up, is that we now have to order adult meals at the restaurant. First day of school

This year I have a first and a fifth grader! Aww, he was so tiny in the first picture in Pre-K! Last year of elementary school for this big kid, and Mama is not ready for middle school next year. The boys had a great start to their school year, still taking the bus every day, and while no one is a fan of going to school around here, they seem to like their teachers and classes so far. I'm glad to be getting back to more of a routine for them (and me), because let me just tell you...summer was rough! Haha.
