Week 33

March 22nd, 2014
How far along:
33 weeks!

Baby is the size of a:
Pineapple. The doctor said he weighs 4lbs, 4oz.

Total weight gain:
27lbs on the doctor’s scale.

Maternity Clothes?
All the way!

Stretch Marks?
None on my belly.

Sleep?
Pretty miserable.

Best moment of the Week:
Seeing him blink on the ultrasound and our baby shower of course! (Post on that to come!)

Movement:
All the time. Some of his kicks are really painful and will stop me in my tracks!

Food Cravings:
Still Smoothies!

Belly Button in or out:
In – barely!

Gender:
Sweet baby boy!

Symptoms:
Backaches, Rib Pains, getting out of breath easily, frequent restroom trips and new this week: swollen feet, ankles, legs and hands.
Katie and I were sitting at an Infant CPR class, learning about choking, when I noticed that my feet were bulging out of my shoes, because they were so swollen (which hasn’t really happened before). I showed them to Katie and she couldn’t help herself but busted out laughing! We were both laughing hysterically to the point that we were crying, all in the front row of this CPR class. Yep, that was one of our less proudest moments! It’s hard to find shoes these days and my legs and ankles look like a tree stumps! We usually laugh about it, but I can also go from laughing to crying in 2 seconds flat...damn pregnancy hormones! :)

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Luckily not!

Have you Started to Show yet?
How big can this belly get?

What I miss:
Being comfortable in bed and sitting down without hurting. I can see the finish line though, so I’m hanging in there.

What I'm looking forward to:
Shopping for the rest of our baby items that we didn’t receive at the shower and organizing the nursery.

What I'm not looking forward to:
More pain.

Weekly Wisdom:
We are blessed!

Wie weit:
33 Wochen!

Baby ist so gross wie eine:
Ananas.

Gibt es etwas, wovon dir schlecht wird?
Zum Glueck nicht!

Kann man dir die Schwangerschaft ansehen?
Wie gross kann dieser Bauch noch werden?

Was ich vermisse:

  1. I am very happy for you guys that everything finally worked out!
Btw - Compression stockings can help to overcome the elephant foot problem. (Probably not the most suitable hoisery for Arizona weather, but still...)

  2. You look great! That's exciting that you had your baby shower!
I make my husband give me foot rubs to help with the swelling. ;)

Hope you start feeling better, mama! Especially that back! It's not a fun experience!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

March iPhone dump

A look back at the month of March! Fox and I had a few hours to ourselves while Finn was at a birthday party, and he wanted to go shopping at Target and get some Starbucks. Sounds like my kind of date! This is where you can find him most days, playing games with his friends online, while simultaneously being on facetime with them. When did he get so big? Family game night outside! My sour patch kid. He told me he will still cuddle with me until he is 42...haha! I've been having a really hard time sharing parenting time lately. It kills me every time when I have to drop them off every other week for a stretch of five days, and I have been getting anxiety attacks. I know they are well taken care of, I know they have fun there and don't even think about me, but it still sucks. Whenever I'm not with them, I'm at work, and I guess it's just been extra hard because I never had to be away from them as much as I have since becoming a nurse.  Fox brought this home from schoo...
