Week 18

December 7th, 2013

How far along:
18 weeks

Baby is the size of a:
Bell Pepper

Total weight gain:
I don’t know, I didn’t weigh myself this week.

Maternity Clothes?
I bought a new maternity sweater this week, but I have lots of room to grow into it!

Stretch Marks?
Not yet.

Sleep?
Getting better! Most nights I don’t even have to go to the bathroom anymore!

Best moment of the Week:
Having our 18 week ultrasound and finding out that our little boy is looking as healthy as can be!

Movement:
Still waiting.

Food Cravings:
None.

Belly Button in or out:
In.

Gender:
Ultrasound confirmed that we’re still having a boy! :)

Symptoms:
I’ve been having ligament pains, but nothing too bad. And pregnancy acne (will there ever be a blog post without this as my symptom?).

Anything Making you queasy or Sick?
Pasta makes me feel a little sick lately, which is a bummer, because I love pasta!

Have you Started to Show yet?
I’m getting bigger, but I think I’m still looking like I had too many cheeseburgers.

What I miss:
My clear skin.

What I'm looking forward to:
Grandma Rene’ (Katie’s Mom) coming back into town…she is going to finish painting the room and then we can put up our decal trees and set up the crib! I can’t wait!

What I'm not looking forward to:
Nothing.

Weekly Wisdom:
I got all of my weekly wisdom from my sweet girlfriends who were patient enough to explain cloth diapering, baby carriers and must have items for the baby registry to me!

Wie weit:
18 Wochen

Baby ist so gross wie eine:
Paprika

Insgesamte Gewichtszunahme:

Was ich vermisse:
Meine reine Haut.

    Stephie

  2. You look fabulous in your weekly pictures, your baby boy will love these later on, I know I would have loved to know more about my mum's pregnancy from 31 years ago.

I'm currently trying to convince my girlfriend that we take announcement pictures to share with our friends around Christmas, but she's having none of it, so I think it will just be a single sentence post :(

Anyway, are you planning on cloth diapering then? That's great!

I'm having ligament pains too and am also still waiting to feel baby's first movement...

    1. Thank you!
I had to convince Katie as well, she hated the idea and she hated taking the pictures, but I'm so glad she did it for me! I didn't win the battle with having a gender reveal party though, I really wanted to do something special, but she said she already took the pictures with me, LOL.
You can always take announcement pictures without you and her in it, I've seen some cute ideas on pinterest!
I really want to cloth diaper, but Katie doesn't want to, so unless I have her full support, we won't do cloth. A lot of my friends do it and explained the process to me, so I could tell Katie, but she still thinks it's gross…haha.
Oh well, you win some and you lose some! :)

August iPhone dump

A few of my favorite moments from August! Meet the teacher for the boys! I received this picture from Katie's wife, such a sweet bond they have. I'm also loving how his pajamas are inside out...haha. Walter came back to spend a few days with us! We watched him last summer, and the boys kept talking about him, so we were all so excited when his mom asked us to watch him for a few days. Notice Finn pouting. He was upset that Walter "only pays attention to Fox". So many big emotions in such a tiny body. Mr. Cool Guy at his dentist check up and teeth cleaning! I was trying to get some work done in my office, but this guy needed some attention. Finn made a bed for them, so they could sleep together. In the end, no one wanted to sleep there, but he was so happy to cuddle with Walter for a bit. My friend got me some comedy tickets to see "Nurse John", so I invited my two besties, and two of my old classmates, and we had a blast, he was so funny. We even got VIP acc...

January iPhone dump

A quick look at our January! Nursing Level 2 unlocked...after getting a heated vest, I now also have my personal space heater at work. No one warned me how cold hospitals are...haha! We watched our friend's dog for a few days and Mr. Finn was in heaven. He wouldn't let go of poor Nugget and always wanted him to be right with him. His eyes say "Save me!!!" Cherishing the times that he will cuddle with me. I know I don't have much time left, and that makes me really sad. Self-care...reading a book in our hammock while the kids were playing nicely together. Another downfall of them growing up, is that we now have to order adult meals at the restaurant. I might have to get another job in order to afford these two...haha.  Katie sent me this picture of Finn sleeping with their dog one night.  Sweet things my co-worker leaves for me when I was sick at work...she made me a to-go tissue packet because the box I kept carrying around kept falling out of my fanny pack that I...

First day of school

This year I have a first and a fifth grader! Aww, he was so tiny in the first picture in Pre-K! Last year of elementary school for this big kid, and Mama is not ready for middle school next year. The boys had a great start to their school year, still taking the bus every day, and while no one is a fan of going to school around here, they seem to like their teachers and classes so far. I'm glad to be getting back to more of a routine for them (and me), because let me just tell you...summer was rough! Haha.
