Finn's 7th Birthday Party

Finn didn't want to have a birthday party with friends for the last few years, so we usually just did something special with just one friend, but this year he was very excited about all his "bros" as he liked to say. He picked his favorite play place and couldn't have been more excited.  He's been friends with this girl since Kindergarten and I was so glad that she was able to come, because Finn has not stopped talking about her for years. They played for three hours and the venue provided pizza and cake, so it was one of the easiest parties I have ever hosted. He had so much fun with his friends and I loved seeing him being so excited.

First day of school

This year, I have a second and a sixth grader! How is he almost filling out this shirt? This is Fox's first year of middle school, and saying that we were both very nervous about is, is an understatement.  A look back through the years... So far, the boys had a pretty good first month. There have been a lot of changes for Fox, but he has been handling them all like a champ.  We are looking forward to some cooler months coming (hopefully) soon, and all the fall things!

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

Finn's 7th Birthday

Six is still little to me, but 7?!? Growing up right before my eyes, but he is still my little love bug who gives the best hugs and kisses and will always be my baby. He really wanted some gamer headphones like the ones Fox has. I didn't know it at the time, but he wanted them for school.  Apparently he likes everything Fox has, so he had to get his own tornado lamp as well, since Fox won't let him use his lamp. We went to breakfast with his great-grandparents, and Grandma had given him birthday money while we were in Washington, so he spent it at the toy store next to the breakfast restaurant and bought this toy. That night, we met up with Katie and Christina to do a family activity of his choice with him, and he chose mini golf. Followed by dinner at JoJo's where they have the best milkshakes. I think he had a great day, and I'm so grateful for this little guy and the privilege of being his Mama.
